Christian Mysticism is a Path of Awareness

Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.

The Spirit is always there so we must transform and enlarge our personal consciousness and individual experience with the Holy Spirit. This is basic to every mode of spiritual discernment, and every quest. The more we are aware of Spirit working in and through everything, especially within ourselves, the more God’s presence can replace prior limitations and disharmonies with good. Our minds will act on the new ideas that are formed and form a new, more positive belief and attitude. This deep understanding sees the good of God everywhere and always present. This shift in attitude brings greater freedom; peace and joy so we need to give up the old worries, free ourselves and replace old ideas with the knowledge that everything we need is available. When we recognize Spirit and pull into life revelation, discernment and right choices are made.

Isn’t amazing how throughout the ages mystics of all stripes and religions have plugged into almost universal concepts of love, unity and oneness, compassion and justice for all, regardless of their culture or religion.

Christian Mysticism And Christian Religion

Christian religion seems to be the study of trees and counting the rings while Christian Mysticism is concerned with sending the roots deeper into the experience. I think one can study the orchard and expand one’s branches and roots at the same time, but the institutions seem more comfortable with the words and so they deny the experience.

In our endeavor to understand life we experiment externally, which is science in order to understand the laws of life internally, which is spirituality. As we see the universal laws unfold and how they apply to our mind, we understand our relationship to the whole. By being good we find out what makes us happy and by being bad we find sadness, therefore to be content and happy we must find the best way to live. To live a good life we must deliver an unconscious pattern into a conscious system, which is what spirituality does for us. It is just as important to understand our internal self, as it is to understand the external self in order to be healthy and happy. We need to learn to watch the inner reactions of the mind, the same way we observe events in the outer world for self-preservation; consequently, our mind becomes aware of itself.

I feel the Church needs to spend more time directing people to the interior life and not worry so much about the exterior facade that takes so much of the Church’s resources. Christian Mysticism

Tao Chapter 43 and Christian Mysticism

Chapter 43 now open for dialog or discussion…….

The gentlest thing in the world
overcomes the hardest thing in the world.
That which has no substance
enters where there is no space.
This shows the value of non-action.

If we think of the Tao or God as what ties everything together in some form of harmony, then everything is in a relationship with everything, God or the Tao. When everything is in a relationship with everything else then nothingness or no thing exist in isolation or separate from everything so there is nothing. Therefore everything inseparable even opposites are one. In our body we have opposite muscles that complement one another. One muscle straightens the arm and the opposite muscle bends the arm. We have opposites in the body that complement each other for the health and well being of the entire body. It seems it was designed to co-operate and work with opposites that are inseparable. In other words opposites are just two parts of one whole and are not separate. In silence, we have no point where heat ends and cold begins. I think this dialog is talking about the cooperation and oneness of everything working together. We have two eyes and they see one vision and our two ears hear one sound. To see the value of non-action, one needs to realize and be aware of the Oneness of All things. Non-action implies that there is no one doing the action so there is no-action, just Oneness. I find this passage leading to the stillness of the mind where we understand and find our One True Love, the Tao, or God.

Teaching without words,
performing without actions:
that is the Master’s way.

Silence seems to speak volumes on the infinite, as our theories and knowledge are finite and only explain a part. I feel if a teacher says that a theory is the only true or possible one then it is a sign that this master does not understand the theory or the dilemma. Our minds are limited like words and can’t grasp all possibilities; therefore to look for understanding I think the Tao is saying one needs to look beyond the mind without words or actions. I feel in pure being on finds and can understand the One True Love. Therefore; religion would not be about believing in things, words or rules, but about being sacred and holy, whole-ly.
Christian Mysticism

Christian Mysticism is Love

The art of being a good Christian is in harmony with humanism and Christian Mysticism. An enlightened mind and an enlarged heart will focus a current of love into a laser for different, enthusiastic, adventurous, happy individuals, giving honor and glory to God in just being alive. These progressive Christians become spiritual and human at the same time producing a radiant joy and buoyancy for all of humanity. They know that God placed them on earth to be human beings and not inhuman. Mysticism is not a withdrawal from the world because it seeks a greater knowledge of God, which becomes practical or practiced when oriented towards goodness and service to one’s neighbors. I feel mysticism and humanism go hand in hand because when we know God and act in accordance with God in the form of humanism. Yes, this is love.

Sin in Christian Mysticism

To the person engrossed in pure consciousness even pain is fruitful, for all things work together for the good of the whole even sin is a commitment to greater love because it humbles bringing out the best. It shows how the ego will act contrary to the will of God so a person will rise above sin by turning to pure consciousness, God acts as if the sin had never been committed. God’s consciousness is in the present so He would never let former sins count against a person. God accepts people not for what they have been, but for what they are now. Sin is just a way to bring man to a better knowledge of his love and make him more determined to struggle for pure consciousness.

Christian Enlightenment in Christian Mysticism

We can’t open the door of Christian Enlightenment in Christian Mysticism because of our attachment to images, words, and ideas that support our beliefs. We seem to fear the emptiness that we think lies beyond the door, beyond the surface of things so we grasp these things and ideas, afraid of being immersed in a Reality that our mind can’t comprehend. The guiding light is shinning under, on top of and around the door, but we are to attached and afraid to open it. It has no lock. There is no doctrine, religion, teaching or technique that opens the door. I feel there is not even a door, we just need the to walk through it with love.

Soul, Christ Consciousness and love

Our possessive nature spoils things, our attachments blind; they bind and hurt us so we need to let go of our old ways and become free because this detachment is our liberation. When a person loves something he sets it free, this is love. Love is beyond the mind, beyond mere words, and is expressed in silent sacrifice. Jesus loved us and died for us to show us the way. His liberation from the earth glorified God and showed us the way. He loved, sacrificed and died for everyone demonstrating his love for God, everything and the unity of pure consciousness. The union between Christ consciousness and pure consciousness is so intimate that no creature could ever detect a difference between them. Christ is demonstrating the union between our soul and God because our soul is nearer to God than it is to our body. We have higher and lower powers just like Jesus because we enjoy the bliss of eternity while, at the same time, suffering and struggling here on earth. We should not inhibit the function of our consciousness, but train, offer it up to God and be in harmony with it at all times. Jesus showed us how to assign suffering solely to the body, the lower faculties and the senses so our consciousness can be plunged into the pure consciousness of our Lord. He showed us how to love God in all things so the more purely and simply we love in unity the more thoroughly our deeds will wash away our sins and purify our minds. Jesus meant for us to follow him intelligently and spiritually so not to be manipulated by literal interpretations that lead us away from love. Following Christ consciousness in our own way depends on our love not our superficial actions. It is love that blots out sin and knows no fear so there is nothing else a man can do that is as beneficial as loving everything and everyone. When this happens, it is no longer we who love, but Christ that loves through us, it is no longer our bodies that live, but Christ consciousness that lives within us. This is the discovery of our true selves in Christ consciousness. Jesus died for us and reconciled us to his Father so Christ consciousness could live in us and unify us with God.

To Understand Spiritual Things

“God has revealed this wisdom to us through the Spirit. The Spirit scrutinizes all matters, even the deep things of God.” —1 Corinthians 2:10

To understand spiritual things, we have to rely totally on the Holy Spirit because the Spirit instructs us in everything (John 14:26), We live in the Spirit and it is the major part if not all of our understanding.
(2 Corinthians 3:15-17) 15Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

All the Sacred Books are special and are not ordinary writings because they have been inspired by the Holy Spirit and have extremely spiritual and truthful contents. They are mystical and difficult in many ways. If we have the freedom of Spirit, we see this in all the sacred teachings, if not we have a tendency to contract to the one thing we have studied intellectually.

(1 Corinthians 2:10-16) “The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.[a] 14The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment:
16″For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?”[b] But we have the mind of Christ.” The mind of Christ I feel can be expressed as Christ consciousness, but many Christians would call this New Age as if it is bad. It is not negative.

God is not separate from anything; He is the Life of our life, the Reality within our own reality and the Soul within our being. Our union with God can be witnessed in our minds starting with the replication of the union between Christ consciousness and God’s pure consciousness. This is the bringing of our own minds and wills into agreement with the mind of Christ, a consciousness where we experience pure consciousness and get submerged in the loving will of God. It starts us on a journey toward a new consciousness where Christ consciousness purifies the mind so it becomes free, not worried and unattached because it doesn’t want its own way, but the Lord’s way. Christ said, “Lord let Thy Will be done.” This simple phrase encourages the thoughtful and focused application of a profound spiritual practice that leads to untold reward by directing the creative force within to pure consciousness. It establishes a deep awareness of our unity with the power of God so we experience a greater good as a result of limiting our negative attitude. This positive awareness applied to specific needs in our daily life changes our circumstances helping us to pass from hardship and desire into a greater freedom than we have ever known. As we enter into a greater consciousness astonishing things happen that we thought were not possible, but we must take an honest look at our negative thoughts and let them go. Having the determination to expand our positive thoughts and take charge of our life will eliminate many problems, negative beliefs and unhappiness. We must have the courage to move forward into Christ consciousness where we are free from pain, desire, fear, conflict and worry. May we all have the freedom of Spirit to not be afraid and research our true being in every corner the Spirit takes us and not cower into tradition, physical symbols or behind people who preach the restricting of Spirit just because it comes from a source we are not accustomed to. The Spirit enters where the door is open and honors a closed mind by not entering where it is not welcome.

Story of Adam and Eve

The personal story of Adam and Eve explains the tendency within the universe to disperse. A centrifugal motion radiating from the nucleus is what causes the worldly consciousness to appear to separate from God. The world in itself has no reality at all because it is in perpetual change without much meaning or consistency. The objects and things existing in it are separated in time and space and are changing from one moment to the next. Therefore, the microcosm apart from the macrocosm is nothing but when it knows the macrocosm, it is reality itself, constant and full of being. The feeling that we fell from pure consciousness and loss bliss is due to the separation from our internal existence. This has caused the present era of confusion where everything is divided, not centered, and separated from the whole or pure consciousness. This can be related to the story of Adam and Eve leaving the Garden of Eden or the unit consciousness separating from pure consciousness. No need to worry though because everyone will be delivered from this separation. As the inner light unfolds, it delivers the outer life from bondage. Everything comes from within so when the inner consciousness knows freedom, the outer life knows freedom also, and will reflect it through health, happiness and success. Evolution is working for our good and will bring about this knowledge that everything starts from within and works its way outward. All things even that which we call evil is paying tribute to pure consciousness, showing us the way. Suffering teaches us a lesson that causes us to resist making more mistakes. We just need to learn how to gain knowledge from our experiences, to go inward and to experience everything.

The Tao, Ch 27 and Christian Mysticism

Ch 27

Therefore the sage takes care of all men
And abandons no one.
He takes care of all things
And abandons nothing.

This is called “following the light.”

Matt 5:

14“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

The light seems to transform as it forgives and accepts all who are in the present. A good example is Jesus who brings light to the meek, to the lowly in heart, and to the broken as he heals and restores the needy to their true nature. It is to the arrogant, the religiously crusty aristocrats to whom Jesus lays demands harshly. He is harsh in his teaching to the arrogant because he knows that they have lost the ability for an authentic mystical experience with their paltry, pompous prayers, actions and mentality. He can bring them to the door of awareness, but I feel he knows they won’t be able to open it until they cultivate love and the still point that love creates. We can’t open the door because of our attachment to images, words, and ideas that support our beliefs.

I feel Jesus knows that we need to know the natural self before we can walk through the portal and know the supernatural self. I think that is why he taught love so we could go beyond the motions of religion. I feel he knows people call themselves religious, but do not acknowledge God, pure love, or God’s pure consciousness, the Tao. In this case even some Christians are pagans as referred to in line 47 below.

Matt 5:

43“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[h] and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you: Love your enemies[i] and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Christian Mysticism

Christian Mysticism empties the mind so the Spirit can Grow

We don’t have to go to the waters in an artesian well, the water come to us. We just have to remove the barriers blocking the water from rising.  God’s grace tries to fill the void in our lives. Emptying the mind removes the barriers and creates a void for God’s grace. I feel the interior life with spirit gives us liberation and a higher consciousness away from the thoughts and cravings for things. We live an interior life not attached to the external world except to serve expressing our Lord’s love. For me the holy is within and that is what motivates a moral religious life. It is awe before God in the indwelling Spirit. It is not that the spiritual is superior to the material, but that the material is spiritual so one sees God in mysterious way. One is content to watch the physical play of Our Lord as he acts it out in everyone and everything.

Many Christians express an external religious expression with fear as a kind of motivation. I think they are not emptying their minds, but filling it with thoughts to defend a book or an external God with majestic trivia. When they speak, their words have no power because they don’t have the grace or spiritual power to back them up. They seem to think they know all the meanings, but they don’t seem to know the spiritual value of love and compassion. They force their moral compulsion of the whole Bible on everyone without a discriminate mind that can distinguish between what is pertinent and what doesn’t relate.

Mark 7:6-8 (New International Version)

6He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:
” ‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
7They worship me in vain;

Merry Christmas is a Mystical Christmas

May everyone have a Merry Christmas and be given a spiritual experience of Christian Mysticism , which introduces the mind to the soul radiating from the center of our being to connect, guide, and sooth our energy. Energy radiates from the soul similar to an electrical current giving light to a bulb. This energy is no longer rampant, but focused, connected with our core and the spiritual depths of our soul. This consciousness directed by Christ does not judge, just witnesses with the understanding that we are drawn to the power of the soul. A consciousness of bliss filling an empty, powerless place with wisdom and knowledge requires inner work recognizing where we are influenced by external circumstances and lose energy. Temptations are not ignored, but released by changing perceptions, self-image, concepts and one’s life. The resistance to change is witnessed with the recognition that our energy and power are lost in a diffused and unfocused state taking strength from every fiber of our body. Spiritual practice is a natural gift, a living grace that perfects our poise, manner, coolness and reserve in the muscular and nervous systems of our body. Spiritual development doesn’t invite physical health because it is done for spiritual reasons, but the mind and body do benefit, assisting our spirituality in turn. May we all share in this Christmas gift

Trust and Faith

Trust and Faith

I feel contemplation takes us from Trust to Faith. I feel Trust and Faith are holding hands, but they are different in that Trust is coming from the head, logically telling us that everything will turn out in the long run, while Faith on the spiritual level gives us a calm feeling because we know it will or has already happened in infinity. It is nice when they walk together because a calm easy feeling is emitted. If one only has one it seems an unbalance occurs that makes it difficult to go forward. For example, I feel many trust that they have a religion that represents the central principle of God, but their actions seem to show us that they may not have the faith that it represents God. It shows in their actions of holding back from being completely enthusiastic about Love, or coming closer to their God. I don’t think this is a fun place to be and is not productive because there is not a total submission to Spirit or Soul. If there were a total submission to God’s will, there would be eagerness to know God in all His aspects. There would be no time to play my religion is “better or best” game. I think the individuals who play this have confused Trust and Faith. They think their Trust is Faith.

Logically, we seem to tell ourselves that we should play it safe and keep with the ideas we have because deep down we do not trust other concepts or ourselves. Following a spiritual path is difficult because of Trust and Faith. We may have faith in God and that all things are united, but not trust that people are ready to hear it or the world is ready for it with all the strife. We may believe God is talking to us in different ways, but then question these intuitions as weird spirit voices. I feel we may trust we are on the right path, but not believe it, if we think others are on the wrong path. I feel to do great spiritual work we need to believe and trust in what we are doing. This is reflected in that we also feel others are doing exactly what they are suppose to be doing at this time.

To connect Trust and Faith, I feel we have to reconnect with our faith so we need to take time to pray, meditate, listen to music, read, write, daydream, build sandcastles or whatever to connect to the Spirit within. Our deep spiritual faith will reconnect with Trust. If we lack faith then we need to argue, sing, talk, and listen to our God, which is the same God as others so there is no need to argue with other people. If we don’t have faith then our work is not spiritual. We need people to give their spiritual gifts and people need to share their spirit so we need to encourage all faiths to express their love and devotion. I feel this will get rid of religious terrorism, suicide bombers and condemning of others.

Having said all this I feel the people reading this are on a much deeper level than what I just expressed. It comes across in our lives that some people are thoughtful of their souls and see this as a cure for the world and the worldliness of our hearts. Trust in spirit allows one to love and easily laugh.  This trust trains our minds to overlook the little senseless, physical actions of the time to remember where our souls are already residing in the center of the circle. Jesus also warned us of distrust and the follow-up, physical actions that would distract our minds away from the peace in the center of the Spirit.  The soul seems to be the witness in the world just letting things be. It is immune from material laws knowing a physical action will fail to produce a spiritual thing. Reawakening to our soul we live and have being in the world, but are not of it. The soul leaves no footsteps.

Matt6:26

“Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?

We dream we are on a journey, but we are in bed at home so our spiritual journey has no distance, but is only an awakening to our home in eternal peace. Peace is a condition of  the mind with Truth and Faith holding hands and walking together through the test of motion, rest, danger, exhaustion and being prosperous. I feel this chapter is telling us that if we find peace in the lesson that is planned for us at a specific time may it be rest or exhaustion then we will experience the attribute of eternal gentleness. I feel when we finally open our eyes from our dream and spiritual journey, we realize that we need nothing because everything we need is already provide for us even hardship is a need provided free of charge.

Judging a (Holy) Book by Its Cover: Personal Appearance and Faith

As ordinary men and women we see everything in its outward appearance. God the Father sees everything in His inward appearance because all of creation is within Him. All that exists in this world from the vast universe down to the minutest atom exists in God so only the form changes. God the Father is the eternal witness seeing everything inwardly, and in reference to us he sees everything internally and externally through our eyes. Pure consciousness pervades everything and is the linking force of all that is. Therefore, our duty is to expand our minds and make contact with this force that maintains our life. http://thinkunity.com

Reverend Rob Bell Didn’t Envision Controversy Over Hell-Questioning Book ‘Love Wins’

God loves everyone, but I feel He/She probably prefers “fruits of the spirit” over “religious nuts” and their hell. It is with the fanatics that all Hell breaks loose. The mind leads them where they are going. What a person talks about is what is on the mind. Fanatics will talk about Hell until it freezes over.

Our Mind Produces Heaven or Hell

Our mind produces the experiences of ignorance, pain, enlightenment and happiness so it is the master of our inner character and our outer circumstance. All of us want to be happy and are filled with pure consciousness, but this pure consciousness is blocked in the mind by ignorance. The key to opening the door to knowledge and pure consciousness is held by the ‘doer I’ part of the mind. If we want to experience a particular good, the ‘doer I’ must become conscious of it and demonstrate it because it is the ego that gives us the path for our personal expression. It provides or blocks the avenue through which pure consciousness can work. The mind is like a garden because it can be cultivated or permitted to run wild, and the results are either useless weeds or an abundance of fruit. By weeding out negative thoughts and cultivating positive thoughts, our minds discover that we are the master-gardener of pure consciousness.

The thoughts built into our character have brought us where we are today either happy or unhappy. If we are sad, we can’t learn, grow, evolve and progress to a place where we are happy and content until we find a place in our minds that is in harmony with our surroundings. When out of harmony, we learn by suffering and by cultivating happiness. As individuals, we have the choice to direct our minds wherever we choose so we may fall to the level of our desires or rise to the heights of our good deeds.

Taking responsibility for ourselves in a deeper way, we understand that it is the duty of an evolved being to give reality to the best convictions. This expression of pure consciousness needs the same courage and self-sacrifice shown by Christ because to gain Christ consciousness takes honesty. We have to realize who we are in our own way. The ‘pure I’ feeling can be felt, but can’t be totally understood because it is the symbol of the higher part of our mind. It is a treasure buried within us in the pure essence of our being, a seed that becomes a tree in order to shade others.
As Christ consciousness is in us so also is Our Father’s heavenly kingdom. Since we are in a quest for happiness and the essence of our being, this consciousness is a pearl of great price. It is a sacrifice, until we start imitating Christ consciousness and forget the brutal pursuit of crude active pleasures and the pain they bring to us. When pleasure no longer becomes the chief purpose of our life and the joy of God’s kingdom is realized, the ego dominated slave is set free to follow the deepest nature of our being as our mind steps out of the chaos of life and steps towards Christ consciousness to enter God’s kingdom in pure consciousness and bliss.

Christian Mysticism

Christian Mysticism is A Way to Become One with God

Wisdom to find health, happiness and peace of mind is not in a heaven beyond, but in the here and now.

It is buried in all religions and can exist without any religion.

Meditation, contemplation is the bow, the self the arrow.

God is the mark or goal.

We can penetrate the target with Christ Mysticism, if we become one with it as the arrow becomes one with the target.
