In the Ground of Being We Encounter Love and Peace

Beyond the dominance of the mind, we rest in the ground of our being where we can soar as high as we want in infinite space filling our self with love and peace. There is a ground beyond our individual ideas and beliefs created and framed in a greater Ground of Being along with 8 billion other people.  When we can no longer talk about it, we seem to meet in the playing field of peace, love and joy far away from the ideas that we label right and wrong. It is so easy to get caught up and attached to our own view of the world forgetting that it is only our way of seeing things or our opinion. The good thing is we are not locked inside our individual ground of being because when we look up to the sky we discover we are in the midst of a dependable, responsible universe that responds to our needs and aspirations.

In our own minds we trap ourselves in an inescapable tunnel of dark and limited ideas refusing to open our eyes and turning our backs to the expanse of space and the creations around us. Relief from our disturbances, disappointments and irritations seem to come in the paradoxes and uncertainty that percolates up from deep within our individual ground of being, I like to call the soul. It might happen at our child’s birthday party, a ritual, sunset or another form of surrender to something greater than our tyrant of reason. The remedy does not really matter as long as it frees us from the confines of our limited thinking because we can’t create a new reality with the same ideas that limited our experience.

The Theoretical Quantum Physicist Amit Goswami said that for many years quantum physics had been giving indications that there are levels of reality other than the material level. String theory’s view of the fundamental nature of matter differs significantly from that of traditional particle physics where the universe is more mechanical. According to string theory, the fundamental objects underlying all matter are strings of energy that cannot be seen vibrating in loops or segments. They are not made up of atoms, electrons, protons or quarks, but their oscillations and changeability are basic to them. This theory requires that we open up and accept the existence of more dimensions in the universe, a preternatural, supernatural Ground of Being where these strings of energy percolate up.

This enchanting idea was also mentioned by Meister Eckhart who talks about God being a Ground of our Being surrounding and penetrating every being and thing, but is no-thing. It persists and is present whether the church approves of it not or whether we want to believe in one particular religious institution because while church attendance decreases, our spiritual yearning refuse to go away. … “It transcends both the drives of the nonrational unconsciousness and the structures of the rational conscious…the ecstatic character of faith does not exclude its rational character although it is not identical with it, and it includes nonrational strivings without being identical with them. ‘Ecstasy’ means ‘standing outside of oneself’ – without ceasing to be oneself – with all the elements which are united in the personal center.” (Paul Tillich)

Expand Christianity by Expanding Yourself

The Christian Church has become a social and political institution where we Christians give up our power and authority to others to save us, but our churches have opposed our progress, improvement and encounters with the awe of understanding that shines within us with many obstructions. It has opposed innovation and discovery when we need to transform our mental paradigms in order to inspire and change our perceptions of the universe and our relationship with it. Some church leaders have divorced science and religion, faith and reason which are meant to live together with enthusiasm and not alone in isolation. It is up to us to tear down the walls that divide them, to use our intelligence as a path to spiritual awareness so when our mind can say no more our instinctive spiritual view of life will take over. This kind of rational intuitive perception of God is reflected in creation.

I see, hear, taste, smell and feel gross energy, but at the same time I can experience subtle energy. There is a limit to my senses and this boundary marks the experience of gross life because the subtle energy fields are out of our ordinary range of experience. Technology has shown me that there are subtle levels in our world, which I am not aware of with my senses because my senses are limited to the gross strata only. In order to experience the finer energies of life it seems necessary for me to improve my sense of being by aligning with the mind and the soul.

Let the scientists and the Christian mystics go on developing methods to understand the universe because with their discoveries and inventions we can split apart the physical and spiritual sides of life and gain knowledge because the more we know of the individual things, the more we know of the whole. The relationship between our human nature, the world and the beyond is made understandable, as we perceive that life is a relative and intricate part of an undivided whole. We just have to be careful not to get engulfed by the particular things and lose sight of the total picture

The mind is tender and is easily harassed in the noisy confusion of life so we need to discipline our minds to keep peace with our soul. In this way we can continue to wonder and see beauty in the world even with its fraud, strife and broken dreams. The person who does not recognize his soul, who does not commune spiritually is but a pair of glasses without an eye, a person with an intellect who is not aware of spirituality knows all the prices, but not the value of life.

There is a higher way and it is not about punishment and damnation. I feel people set up these alarms, but they are all only about security and power. The higher way transcends these tensions, anxieties and conflicts and flows into acceptance and love for all. As people gain some spiritual experience they seem to become calmer, more peaceful, loving individuals. It seems as people become quieter they start to be more sensitive, insightful and perceptive. They are no longer scattered, inefficient and confrontational as they tune themselves to the higher energies of love. May we all enjoy the deeper inner life and not let others kill the tender merciful presence of God.

In the present world we are paying the price for not uniting in love. Love is vital because the greatest number of forces and energy is united in its commitment. One can see this on the planet with its separation, wide disorientation and alienation. In the process of spreading different dogmas, fundamental beliefs and legislation, we have lost universal love and the spiritual value of life. Nothing is respected anymore because we have misplaced the spiritual merits of being and have stripped all things of their luminosity.

The part of Christianity that is manipulating the masses and not giving the people what they want will perish and the Christianity, which I call Christian mysticism, will continue to help people develop a direct insightful experience. It will help people form a relationship and communion with the beautiful, reasonable energy of the universe and its awe-inspiring power deep within the soul. Science and Christian mysticism offers us the depth to be able to change the direction of our basic concepts and outlook of the world around us by pointing to Infinity and something beyond matter. Viewing the universe from the perspective of Infinity radically changes our thoughts for the better in a whole-world view of unity, observing our finite self in infinity.

Christian Mysticism explains how our actions and thoughts within and without resolve themselves in the simplicity of the whole experience when we focus on our simple unity in God’s pure consciousness and have become acquainted with God’s unity. God is outside and within ourselves in His pure consciousness, which can be witnessed inside, when we know that reality is more than what is observed outside with the senses. Letting go of what is little, Christian Mysticism enters into a larger concept of life where there is nothing to fear because we realize that conflict is the result of seeing only in part, not the whole picture.

Turn Yourself Inside Out

The foot inside my shoe itches so I have to take off my shoe and go inside my sock and scratch it, scratching the outside of the shoe does not get rid of the itch, provide relief from the irritant or the longing for something greater. We get irritated with others because the physical world works on the outside; leading to an understanding inside our self, the world can make us angry outside, but inside the soul radiates peace. The experiences in the world change us by changing our surroundings and our particular situation and set of conditions, but we grow from the inside out where we change the environment. No one can teach us, nobody can make us spiritual; they can only lead us to our own soul, which is the teacher.

We look outside and dream of a new set of circumstances, but when we look inside we are awaken to our true reality that does not change and our path becomes clear where we really understand inside out. The external world is constantly changing in duality; therefore, it lacks unity because we identify with our mind that is distracted from our true self that is united with everything. The essential key to the talent and skill to change along with our circumstances is to be aware of the dependable, unchanging soul within, which gives us balance, harmony and a broader, wider view of the world. We don’t fall in love with only a narrow view of the external vessel outside, but the whole package including the inside of a person where we see the light in their eyes and a smile shining through a window showing us love , unity and compassion.

A new approach increases the scope and awe in philosophy, science, religion, the body and mind, enriching our environment from the inside. The mind becomes more meaningful as it comes from the inside out and not pounded from the outside in. It is like climbing a mountain and getting a new and more spacious view where the different religions and science bring people to the mountain where they start climbing in silence deeper within the self. The starting point exists and is still a part of culture, but it appears smaller as we climb and awaken to an all-inclusive, and an all-encompassing comprehension of the infinite. The climb within starts with our thoughts and memories leading us to an actual spiritual experience where inert stories are transformed into exciting encounters in our soul that unit us with everything. Higher up the mountain or deeper within the spirit we climb into the universal heart where we relax just being in love without any worry about our tarnished container on the outside. There is no path; there is only a relaxing into love, peace and happiness, resting periods that bring love to the present moment.

The religion of Silence deep within does not destroy familiar rituals, symbols, religion or history of the past, but only helps us approach and increase the scope of Awe in our mind by being happy and human now in the present moment. It enables our consciousness to use our full being to radiate happiness and love to our self and fellow humans while increasing the harmony in the conscious field around us. This happens by bringing the subtle levels of thought from the deeper levels of existence to the conscious level; consequently, becoming aware of the energy in all regions and levels of creation both subtle and gross. Increasing familiarity with the deeper levels of existence that do not change allows us to become comfortable and happy at any level in a suitable atmosphere for our virtues to flourish in a changing world.

Be Awaken by Sin Don’t Feel Guilty

As a Christian we label our loss of potential and clarity from the heavenly pure consciousness ‘original sin’, which is not a sin we committed, but something we suffer wandering and drifting in our love of duality and suffering in it until we follow our dreams. We suffer from our amnesia of the eternal love and joy in the soul where we have access to the consciousness of all things; therefore, we have to create our own. Our existence just being human manifest more happiness when we are aligned with the universel than when we try to manifest on our own and this spiritual joy of unity is latent in all of us. The mystics like St. Augustine are giving us a ladder to go from the inward deeper inward to a spiritual experience in the soul where the church only gives us a map that goes from the outward to the inward.

It seems pain, sorrow and sins are guides, rungs in our ladder of evolution as they naturally push and lead the mind towards a spiritual experience where they are the wings that fly us beyond the mind to experience the bliss in the soul. The map the church gives us can be misleading with guilt because sin doesn’t mean we did something wrong, but that we missed the mark, we were preoccupied not attending to the moment, we were not present. The confusions on the physical plane, the duality of sins and miseries of the mind are not remembered or renewed when we leave the mental realm so guilt is a trap that manipulates our thoughts. In the present moment harmony we see the balance and unity of opposites because a center of heaven on earth has glory even in our sorrows because when we are at our lowest point we are also the most open to change to a new life. The beast in us can lay in peace with our innocence in a renewal where we become whole or holy. We just need a paradigm shift so the mind in not trapped in the brain and opens to the awareness of being a part of the unified force field where we interact with the universe.
When our minds are not at peace our practice to pay attention, learn and quiet the mind gets us back to the mark, similar to making a canoe stable and balanced in choppy waters. If we missed the mark to the left or didn’t make adjustments for the wind now is the time in the present moment because spiritual awareness is not separating our self from our problems, but understanding, finding solutions and learning from them in earth school. If I miss the mark to hit the light switch, I did nothing wrong, but I am missing out on the love, light and energy that is always present. This fall of man, a fall from the soul’s state of grace begins in our mind where we think we are separate, individuals on our own, but our dreams from beyond the mind will show us the dimensions of a wide-ranging, all-encompassing reality.

If we make this shift in consciousness our story becomes a love story and we stop blaming others for our misfortune as we reinterpret our memories, which in Christianity is the process of forgiveness. Forgiveness is not something we carry out for other people, it does not mean we give a positive response to their misbehavior or our mistrust because it is just something that is essential for ourselves to move on to enjoy the peace and goodness that is all around us. Forgiveness takes a strong person and is a sign that one is ready to move on with life. It is a letting go of negative emotions, a spiritual process to love and heal the memories that wrong us and keep us from doing away with the guilt and negativity that blocks the spirit.

We don’t need others to accept us; we only need to accept ourselves, trust our mind, dreams, listen and follow them and rely on their accuracy to hit the mark. To miss the mark means we are preoccupied, we are not there, not in the joy of the present moment because we are doing something without being totally present. This is the lapse, the break we call sin because if we are totally conscious we will not error and we will have spiritual experiences like when we are absorbed and captivated by a sunset that holds our attention. The beauty of the light triggers our awe and wonder as we forget our sins and problems and it brings us into a higher consciousness, but for a person depressed it triggers their sadness. Every occurrence, good or bad can bring us into greater vibrational energy if we align with the spirit to create positive ripples in the mind. Our problems and sins will not go away until they have taught and awakened us to a consciousness that is above them, a pure awareness that abides in the present moment of Eternity.

What Is Christian Mysticism

Christian Mysticism is waking up to reality and falling in love with the essence, energy and consciousness of the universe. This starts with the realization that we are all among and a part of a great union in duality, called creation where we live, depend upon and interact with the other parts that exist in different relationships. It is the understanding and the experience of this unity and relationships with the universe that gives us a purpose besides just sharing atoms and energy. It is a physical, biological, mental and a thoughtful experience where we open up to new ideas and dimensions of reality where we recognize and identify with an undivided whole where we work together independently.

The separation is only in the mind, not in the soul. Albert Einstein says, “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.” Unity is the gift of the intuitive mind because it brings contentment and happiness with what we have and where we are in the moment. When we experience the unity with everything there is nothing missing because everything we need to be happy is with us now. The rational mind invests most of its time worrying about money and reputation, forgetting about integrity and just being happy. Mysticism is the reintroduction to the happiness we have in just being human and delighting in the way things are in the present moment.

The rational mind sees the individual things, the waves and ocean currents as barriers separating us, but the intuitive mind is aware of interconnected ecosystems that are continuous in one ocean where there is nothing lacking. Mysticism recognizes that individual lives are like the ocean currents and waves because they tell of our history that is interwoven with a part of a greater ocean where we find contentment, satisfaction, and happiness in unity. The ocean of pure consciousness we Christians call the Father and the waves pushed up from the ocean are our individual expressions that are connected to the subtle energy of pure conscious that is penetrating and all pervasive.

Jesus showed us compassion beyond the religious concepts that have become the political conflicts we see today and is showing us the way inside ourselves away from the untold suffering observed in the news and society. He is showing us the Christian way to Bliss with the understanding that there are an infinite number of ways to reach the Infinite. Jesus said, “I and the Father are one.” He saw the entire universe as an ocean of pure conscious or as scientist would say a cosmic cloud made up of energy that is sharing atoms where we are free to travel and exchange electrons, thoughts or vibrations. Because we use Christian symbols to express the infinite light that can’t be described, we can call it Christian mysticism, but mysticism is the base for all religions.

When a person experiences the light of the atomic cloud he sees light in all beings and in his/her own self even when the unity of light in religion is not thinkable, the Divinity within reveals the light in everything. The souls of everyone are connected in the light of love beyond the mind where all is one so if we want light in our life we need to transform our self so we are where it is shining and when we do, it brightens our way. This is the path of Christian mysticism. It is the mind that creates differences and dissects matter to do so, but there are no divisions, the mind creates inequalities and then believes that they are true. Science has shown us that matter is light, which some say is frozen energy so it can be detected with the five senses, but matter is like frozen water in the ocean of water still a part and parcel of the whole.

Matt 5: 14″You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

The light seems to transform as it forgives and accepts all who are in the present. A good example is Jesus who brings light to the meek, to the lowly in heart, and to the broken as he heals and restores the needy to their true nature. It is the arrogant, the religiously crusty aristocrats to whom Jesus lays demands harshly. He is harsh in his teaching to the arrogant because he knows that they have lost the ability for an authentic mystical experience with their paltry, pompous prayers, actions and mentality. He can bring them to the door of awareness, but he knows they won’t be able to open it until they cultivate love and the still point that love creates. We can’t open the door because of our attachment to images, words, and ideas that support our beliefs. We seem to fear the emptiness that we think lies beyond the door, beyond the surface of things so we grasp these things and ideas, afraid of being immersed in a Reality that our mind can’t comprehend. The guiding light is shining under, on top of and around the door, but we are too attached and afraid to open it. It has no lock. There is no doctrine, religion, teaching or technique that opens the door. I feel there is not even a door; we just need to walk through it with love.

Jesus knows that we need to know the natural self before we can walk through the portal and know the supernatural self. I think that is why he made clear that love is the way so we could go beyond the motions of religion. People call themselves religious, but do not acknowledge one God, pure love, or the unity with everything and everyone in God. In this case even some Christians can be referred to as Pharisees with their self-righteous hypocrisy.

Matt 5: 43″You have heard that it was said ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you: Love your enemies[i] and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

Religion builds a wall around a small portion of the infinite and calls it god, but love opens the gates and teaches us that the flow of life in every direction is God showing us the good that is all around us in the form of energy and light. Mysticism is allowing that light to flow through us unobstructed, choosing to let the light shine even after a storm, doing what we love, not necessary what is expected. Light expands beyond the mind showing us the way beyond fear to the happiness of Eternal love. You are independent and a wave in an ocean of your expression, but your spirit is the ocean in the present moment so try to take hold of it and it is not there, but let it go, let it be and you are in a state of grace that is in the here and now where past, present and future are present, where Eternity is now, where God is in the present moment. Christian mysticism is a journey to the soul where heaven is experienced now and we don’t have to die to go there.

The Spirit of Christmas

A Mystical Christmas

The Spirit of Christmas can’t be seen, but is in the peace and love that engages us and blesses us for the rest of the year, not in the sweet presents that are easy to buy. We search the shops looking for the best objects to put under the Christmas tree as a special gift overlooking the spiritual gift of Christ consciousness that lies within our self and in the hearts of our family and friends. It is easy to buy a present, but so difficult to take on the forgiveness, tolerance, love and detached mind of Christ. The beauty of Christmas is not in the tree and presents, but in the beauty and presence of love like a silent Christmas candle that gives up its self and small world to discover the light of a new day.

It is not a time or a season to panic, rush and hurry through gifts, cards, carols and tinsel, but to have a humble, respectful mind that is willing to receive the spirit of Christmas, Bodhi, Hajj, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice and Kwanzaa.. To receive the consciousness of the baby Jesus we don’t have to be Christian in order to fly to new heights, we just need a modest heart that can accept the wisdom of the Christ mind. The gift of Christian Mysticism is beyond the limits of our five senses and is wrapped in different beliefs, but in removing and opening up to the universe using a variety of methods from science, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism or any other principle, we experience an inner mystical connection with God.

This spiritual gift introduces our mind to the soul radiating from the center of our being to connect, guide, and sooth our energy. An energy that is no longer rampant, but focused, connected with our core and the spiritual depths of our soul. This consciousness does not judge, just witnesses with the understanding that we are drawn to the power of the soul without doing a thing. A consciousness of bliss filling an empty, powerless place with wisdom and knowledge requires inner work recognizing where we are influenced by external circumstances and lose energy. Temptations are not ignored, but released by changing perceptions, self-image, concepts and one’s life. The resistance to change is witnessed with the recognition that our energy and power are lost in a diffused and unfocused state that takes strength from every fiber of our body. This is a natural gift, a living grace that perfects our poise, manner, coolness and reserve in the muscular and nervous systems of our body. May we all partake in this Merry Christmas and share this spiritual gift with others.

There is no Religion in Heaven

There are no sinners, religions or denominations in heaven just the rapture of God’s pure consciousness which is composed of people with many different beliefs and non-beliefs in one love embracing all in atonement (at-one-ment). No one can dim the light and joy of Christmas when Christ is born again in the unity of our consciousness as we establish our rebirth in it. It does not demand sacrifice, but a celebration of the perception where we are deprived of nothing or no-thing as our communication with the soul is restored. It gets hold of us because we do not feel guilt or worry about anything because our perspective has changed from looking through the filter of the mind to looking through the soul. The soul never loses its communion with the pure consciousness of God and neither will we when we identify with it and put our mind in the service of the spirit. There is no need to feel pressured, frustrated and miserable affected by the traditions and expectations of others because there are ways to live with joy and peace by letting the spirit show the way. We are not here to just work and make a living, but to amplify the spirit and enrich the world with our consciousness by establishing the appropriate function of the mind with the thought that we are a soul with a mind.
Most people use their energy to move around the circumference of the circle forgetting about the center developing their brain and taking for granted the soul. Democritus was an ancient Greek philosopher, a key figure in the development of the atomic theory of the universe said, “Happiness resides not in possessions and not in gold, happiness dwells in the soul.” People orbiting the circumference judging material reality cannot see the reality of the soul in the center because reality repositions so we see our own mental projections. The soul is out of sight and out of the mind denied because it is not recognized. For us Christians Christ is waiting in the serenity of the present day reality ready to take our hand and guide us to the Divinity within the circle. We involve Christ because our physical vision is derived from fear while his spiritual vision comes from love, and he loves what he sees within us dissolving our fear. He is calling us, but we can’t hear him because we are lost in the thoughts of the world of our own creation where we are trying to achieve something in the physical realm. We have lost sight of our soul, and the cost is enormous because we have gained awareness of the physical reality by ignoring our true reality, but we really haven’t sold our soul yet because it is still there, just the awareness of it is missing.

The People Who Love Hell Are in Heaven

In the grace and comfort of unity, a spiritual experience encounters a new heaven and a new earth where everything is united. Science is helping us to reinterpret the universe by showing us that everything in the universe is connected without boundaries or restrictions and that we are a part of the universe and are totally responsible for our character and our choices. Ignore the criticisms and judgments of the mind and listen to the Divinity within because the mind is asking the questions, but it is the soul that answers them. We begin to see through the soul’s perspective when we realize our connection to the universe, open ourselves to love and let the soul show the way. We are a part of the infinite, but somehow we do the most difficult thing, which is to separate ourselves from the infinity within our mind with our mind. The spirit is always there connected with everything in eternity; we just need to remove the obstructions that keep us from it. Jung called the harmonizing, the awareness of our unity with the infinite synchronicity. “Synchronicity is an ever present reality for those who have eyes to see.” (Carl Jung) It is happening right now with coincidences, communications, lessons and everything we need being sent to us from the universe at just the right time when we line up with it instead of demanding the universe change for us.
God is present in the moment, but if we try to grasp or control it, it is not there because we are living in the mind and that means we are either in the past or the future mode while eternity is happening right now and can’t be controlled. The past, the present and the future are in the here and now along with God at the same time, the problem is our mind is linear and thinks in only one mode at a time so they are in the present together, but our mind is not. Christian mysticism communicates to us that we can’t contain or restrict the present moment because it is infinity but there is a way to slow down, know and experience the harmony, synchronicity and peace in it. God is always in infinity, we are the ones that are sporadic, sometimes here and sometimes there in the ocean of pure consciousness while our behavior acts like a wave, connected and separate on the surface. The mind is in the space time continuum so it can imprison and constrict our identity by presenting us as a mind, brain and body, but we are not in them because they are within us. We just need to start identifying with the soul to perceive that the wave is connected to the ocean of pure consciousness in order to feel light and full of joy. The difficulty is in silencing the mind that worries and bothers us with control issues to create our future while the soul is aware of our destiny evolving naturally as we expand and open up to what is around us.
Jesus said, “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” This provides us with a functional answer to the many problems of our present life because this call for love tells us that we are united and that no other person is separate or apart in God’s spiritual encounter. Recognizing that we are all one in God’s mindfulness gives us full protection in His unity by integrating our individual life with the world around us and providing a basic harmony and equilibrium in our hearts and minds. This quiets the mind because creation becomes a tapestry of loving relationships at different levels. The delight and mental high begins with loving who you are at this time no matter what you have done as we need to start at a level we are capable of accepting. It is not a matter of waiting until we have reached an elevated level or certain intensity because all states of love and unity are available right now.
