We Are Happy, Being Happy

Ever since the existence of life we have been seeking peace, freedom and happiness in things, events, superstitions, religion, and science; accordingly, the greatest quest is to embrace happiness, which is not a journey to the Supreme Being, but a journey with a spiritual being. Whatever we have done, experienced or what others have put us through, nothing can stop us because the movement to be happy starts within our self. We are all on our own unique path to contentment and are guided by our own inner voice, but the universe is more powerful than we are so we can use it to find happiness in ourselves. We are all seeking fulfillment and are on different roads to find it; therefore, if someone is on a different path than we are, it does not mean that they are lost or wrong in anyway. Happiness is an inside job that does not depend on external circumstances, seeking it in accomplishments, things or relationships is misery because happiness is not one single event, but a way of life that is always spiraling upward in eternity. Our life becomes easier when we learn to let go of the things, memories and thoughts that make us sad as we take the risk to be completely free beyond imperfections, knowing that trying to make everything perfect does not bring happiness.  We do not have to be in a place that is quiet and trouble free for spiritual practice because even working in a noisy environment with many problems we can still be peaceful, happy and free. Happiness is not a key in another person’s pocket, but a state of being, a way of living that is not attained with hard work, but something that is experienced with peace and love. The first step towards happiness is learning about our self and how our negative thoughts end up in destructive behaviors and emotions while positive thoughts are helpful, but there is not enough time to stress about a world of nonsense, let your wisdom do the talking. Being happy is always popular, but you can’t make yourself happy because it is just being happy, being yourself, being human. We are human beings; as a result, we don’t find happiness, but make it by learning to just be, to let go, accept things as they are and not how we think things should be, unattached, free in our being beyond the mind relaxing in our soul.

In the Ground of Being We Encounter Love and Peace

13015810682Q6zc3

Beyond the dominance of the mind, we rest in the ground of our being where we can soar as high as we want in infinite space filling our self with love and peace. There is a ground beyond our individual ideas and beliefs created and framed in a greater Ground of Being along with 8 billion other people.  When we can no longer talk about it, we seem to meet in the playing field of peace, love and joy far away from the ideas that we label right and wrong. It is so easy to get caught up and attached to our own view of the world forgetting that it is only our way of seeing things or our opinion. The good thing is we are not locked inside our individual ground of being because when we look up to the sky we discover we are in the midst of a dependable, responsible universe that responds to our needs and aspirations.

In our own minds we trap ourselves in an inescapable tunnel of dark and limited ideas refusing to open our eyes and turning our backs to the expanse of space and the creations around us. Relief from our disturbances, disappointments and irritations seem to come in the paradoxes and uncertainty that percolates up from deep within our individual ground of being, I like to call the soul. It might happen at our child’s birthday party, a ritual, sunset or another form of surrender to something greater than our tyrant of reason. The remedy does not really matter as long as it frees us from the confines of our limited thinking because we can’t create a new reality with the same ideas that limited our experience.

The Theoretical Quantum Physicist Amit Goswami said that for many years quantum physics had been giving indications that there are levels of reality other than the material level. String theory’s view of the fundamental nature of matter differs significantly from that of traditional particle physics where the universe is more mechanical. According to string theory, the fundamental objects underlying all matter are strings of energy that cannot be seen vibrating in loops or segments. They are not made up of atoms, electrons, protons or quarks, but their oscillations and changeability are basic to them. This theory requires that we open up and accept the existence of more dimensions in the universe, a preternatural, supernatural Ground of Being where these strings of energy percolate up.

This enchanting idea was also mentioned by Meister Eckhart who talks about God being a Ground of our Being surrounding and penetrating every being and thing, but is no-thing. It persists and is present whether the church approves of it not or whether we want to believe in one particular religious institution because while church attendance decreases, our spiritual yearning refuse to go away. … “It transcends both the drives of the nonrational unconsciousness and the structures of the rational conscious…the ecstatic character of faith does not exclude its rational character although it is not identical with it, and it includes nonrational strivings without being identical with them. ‘Ecstasy’ means ‘standing outside of oneself’ – without ceasing to be oneself – with all the elements which are united in the personal center.” (Paul Tillich)

Expand Christianity by Expanding Yourself

The Christian Church has become a social and political institution where we Christians give up our power and authority to others to save us, but our churches have opposed our progress, improvement and encounters with the awe of understanding that shines within us with many obstructions. It has opposed innovation and discovery when we need to transform our mental paradigms in order to inspire and change our perceptions of the universe and our relationship with it. Some church leaders have divorced science and religion, faith and reason which are meant to live together with enthusiasm and not alone in isolation. It is up to us to tear down the walls that divide them, to use our intelligence as a path to spiritual awareness so when our mind can say no more our instinctive spiritual view of life will take over. This kind of rational intuitive perception of God is reflected in creation.

I see, hear, taste, smell and feel gross energy, but at the same time I can experience subtle energy. There is a limit to my senses and this boundary marks the experience of gross life because the subtle energy fields are out of our ordinary range of experience. Technology has shown me that there are subtle levels in our world, which I am not aware of with my senses because my senses are limited to the gross strata only. In order to experience the finer energies of life it seems necessary for me to improve my sense of being by aligning with the mind and the soul.

Let the scientists and the Christian mystics go on developing methods to understand the universe because with their discoveries and inventions we can split apart the physical and spiritual sides of life and gain knowledge because the more we know of the individual things, the more we know of the whole. The relationship between our human nature, the world and the beyond is made understandable, as we perceive that life is a relative and intricate part of an undivided whole. We just have to be careful not to get engulfed by the particular things and lose sight of the total picture

The mind is tender and is easily harassed in the noisy confusion of life so we need to discipline our minds to keep peace with our soul. In this way we can continue to wonder and see beauty in the world even with its fraud, strife and broken dreams. The person who does not recognize his soul, who does not commune spiritually is but a pair of glasses without an eye, a person with an intellect who is not aware of spirituality knows all the prices, but not the value of life.

There is a higher way and it is not about punishment and damnation. I feel people set up these alarms, but they are all only about security and power. The higher way transcends these tensions, anxieties and conflicts and flows into acceptance and love for all. As people gain some spiritual experience they seem to become calmer, more peaceful, loving individuals. It seems as people become quieter they start to be more sensitive, insightful and perceptive. They are no longer scattered, inefficient and confrontational as they tune themselves to the higher energies of love. May we all enjoy the deeper inner life and not let others kill the tender merciful presence of God.

In the present world we are paying the price for not uniting in love. Love is vital because the greatest number of forces and energy is united in its commitment. One can see this on the planet with its separation, wide disorientation and alienation. In the process of spreading different dogmas, fundamental beliefs and legislation, we have lost universal love and the spiritual value of life. Nothing is respected anymore because we have misplaced the spiritual merits of being and have stripped all things of their luminosity.

The part of Christianity that is manipulating the masses and not giving the people what they want will perish and the Christianity, which I call Christian mysticism, will continue to help people develop a direct insightful experience. It will help people form a relationship and communion with the beautiful, reasonable energy of the universe and its awe-inspiring power deep within the soul. Science and Christian mysticism offers us the depth to be able to change the direction of our basic concepts and outlook of the world around us by pointing to Infinity and something beyond matter. Viewing the universe from the perspective of Infinity radically changes our thoughts for the better in a whole-world view of unity, observing our finite self in infinity.

Christian Mysticism explains how our actions and thoughts within and without resolve themselves in the simplicity of the whole experience when we focus on our simple unity in God’s pure consciousness and have become acquainted with God’s unity. God is outside and within ourselves in His pure consciousness, which can be witnessed inside, when we know that reality is more than what is observed outside with the senses. Letting go of what is little, Christian Mysticism enters into a larger concept of life where there is nothing to fear because we realize that conflict is the result of seeing only in part, not the whole picture.

Turn Yourself Inside Out

The foot inside my shoe itches so I have to take off my shoe and go inside my sock and scratch it, scratching the outside of the shoe does not get rid of the itch, provide relief from the irritant or the longing for something greater. We get irritated with others because the physical world works on the outside; leading to an understanding inside our self, the world can make us angry outside, but inside the soul radiates peace. The experiences in the world change us by changing our surroundings and our particular situation and set of conditions, but we grow from the inside out where we change the environment. No one can teach us, nobody can make us spiritual; they can only lead us to our own soul, which is the teacher.

We look outside and dream of a new set of circumstances, but when we look inside we are awaken to our true reality that does not change and our path becomes clear where we really understand inside out. The external world is constantly changing in duality; therefore, it lacks unity because we identify with our mind that is distracted from our true self that is united with everything. The essential key to the talent and skill to change along with our circumstances is to be aware of the dependable, unchanging soul within, which gives us balance, harmony and a broader, wider view of the world. We don’t fall in love with only a narrow view of the external vessel outside, but the whole package including the inside of a person where we see the light in their eyes and a smile shining through a window showing us love , unity and compassion.

A new approach increases the scope and awe in philosophy, science, religion, the body and mind, enriching our environment from the inside. The mind becomes more meaningful as it comes from the inside out and not pounded from the outside in. It is like climbing a mountain and getting a new and more spacious view where the different religions and science bring people to the mountain where they start climbing in silence deeper within the self. The starting point exists and is still a part of culture, but it appears smaller as we climb and awaken to an all-inclusive, and an all-encompassing comprehension of the infinite. The climb within starts with our thoughts and memories leading us to an actual spiritual experience where inert stories are transformed into exciting encounters in our soul that unit us with everything. Higher up the mountain or deeper within the spirit we climb into the universal heart where we relax just being in love without any worry about our tarnished container on the outside. There is no path; there is only a relaxing into love, peace and happiness, resting periods that bring love to the present moment.

The religion of Silence deep within does not destroy familiar rituals, symbols, religion or history of the past, but only helps us approach and increase the scope of Awe in our mind by being happy and human now in the present moment. It enables our consciousness to use our full being to radiate happiness and love to our self and fellow humans while increasing the harmony in the conscious field around us. This happens by bringing the subtle levels of thought from the deeper levels of existence to the conscious level; consequently, becoming aware of the energy in all regions and levels of creation both subtle and gross. Increasing familiarity with the deeper levels of existence that do not change allows us to become comfortable and happy at any level in a suitable atmosphere for our virtues to flourish in a changing world.

Be Awaken by Sin Don’t Feel Guilty

As a Christian we label our loss of potential and clarity from the heavenly pure consciousness ‘original sin’, which is not a sin we committed, but something we suffer wandering and drifting in our love of duality and suffering in it until we follow our dreams. We suffer from our amnesia of the eternal love and joy in the soul where we have access to the consciousness of all things; therefore, we have to create our own. Our existence just being human manifest more happiness when we are aligned with the universel than when we try to manifest on our own and this spiritual joy of unity is latent in all of us. The mystics like St. Augustine are giving us a ladder to go from the inward deeper inward to a spiritual experience in the soul where the church only gives us a map that goes from the outward to the inward.

It seems pain, sorrow and sins are guides, rungs in our ladder of evolution as they naturally push and lead the mind towards a spiritual experience where they are the wings that fly us beyond the mind to experience the bliss in the soul. The map the church gives us can be misleading with guilt because sin doesn’t mean we did something wrong, but that we missed the mark, we were preoccupied not attending to the moment, we were not present. The confusions on the physical plane, the duality of sins and miseries of the mind are not remembered or renewed when we leave the mental realm so guilt is a trap that manipulates our thoughts. In the present moment harmony we see the balance and unity of opposites because a center of heaven on earth has glory even in our sorrows because when we are at our lowest point we are also the most open to change to a new life. The beast in us can lay in peace with our innocence in a renewal where we become whole or holy. We just need a paradigm shift so the mind in not trapped in the brain and opens to the awareness of being a part of the unified force field where we interact with the universe.
When our minds are not at peace our practice to pay attention, learn and quiet the mind gets us back to the mark, similar to making a canoe stable and balanced in choppy waters. If we missed the mark to the left or didn’t make adjustments for the wind now is the time in the present moment because spiritual awareness is not separating our self from our problems, but understanding, finding solutions and learning from them in earth school. If I miss the mark to hit the light switch, I did nothing wrong, but I am missing out on the love, light and energy that is always present. This fall of man, a fall from the soul’s state of grace begins in our mind where we think we are separate, individuals on our own, but our dreams from beyond the mind will show us the dimensions of a wide-ranging, all-encompassing reality.

If we make this shift in consciousness our story becomes a love story and we stop blaming others for our misfortune as we reinterpret our memories, which in Christianity is the process of forgiveness. Forgiveness is not something we carry out for other people, it does not mean we give a positive response to their misbehavior or our mistrust because it is just something that is essential for ourselves to move on to enjoy the peace and goodness that is all around us. Forgiveness takes a strong person and is a sign that one is ready to move on with life. It is a letting go of negative emotions, a spiritual process to love and heal the memories that wrong us and keep us from doing away with the guilt and negativity that blocks the spirit.

We don’t need others to accept us; we only need to accept ourselves, trust our mind, dreams, listen and follow them and rely on their accuracy to hit the mark. To miss the mark means we are preoccupied, we are not there, not in the joy of the present moment because we are doing something without being totally present. This is the lapse, the break we call sin because if we are totally conscious we will not error and we will have spiritual experiences like when we are absorbed and captivated by a sunset that holds our attention. The beauty of the light triggers our awe and wonder as we forget our sins and problems and it brings us into a higher consciousness, but for a person depressed it triggers their sadness. Every occurrence, good or bad can bring us into greater vibrational energy if we align with the spirit to create positive ripples in the mind. Our problems and sins will not go away until they have taught and awakened us to a consciousness that is above them, a pure awareness that abides in the present moment of Eternity.

What Is Christian Mysticism

Christian Mysticism is waking up to reality and falling in love with the essence, energy and consciousness of the universe. This starts with the realization that we are all among and a part of a great union in duality, called creation where we live, depend upon and interact with the other parts that exist in different relationships. It is the understanding and the experience of this unity and relationships with the universe that gives us a purpose besides just sharing atoms and energy. It is a physical, biological, mental and a thoughtful experience where we open up to new ideas and dimensions of reality where we recognize and identify with an undivided whole where we work together independently.

The separation is only in the mind, not in the soul. Albert Einstein says, “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.” Unity is the gift of the intuitive mind because it brings contentment and happiness with what we have and where we are in the moment. When we experience the unity with everything there is nothing missing because everything we need to be happy is with us now. The rational mind invests most of its time worrying about money and reputation, forgetting about integrity and just being happy. Mysticism is the reintroduction to the happiness we have in just being human and delighting in the way things are in the present moment.

The rational mind sees the individual things, the waves and ocean currents as barriers separating us, but the intuitive mind is aware of interconnected ecosystems that are continuous in one ocean where there is nothing lacking. Mysticism recognizes that individual lives are like the ocean currents and waves because they tell of our history that is interwoven with a part of a greater ocean where we find contentment, satisfaction, and happiness in unity. The ocean of pure consciousness we Christians call the Father and the waves pushed up from the ocean are our individual expressions that are connected to the subtle energy of pure conscious that is penetrating and all pervasive.

Jesus showed us compassion beyond the religious concepts that have become the political conflicts we see today and is showing us the way inside ourselves away from the untold suffering observed in the news and society. He is showing us the Christian way to Bliss with the understanding that there are an infinite number of ways to reach the Infinite. Jesus said, “I and the Father are one.” He saw the entire universe as an ocean of pure conscious or as scientist would say a cosmic cloud made up of energy that is sharing atoms where we are free to travel and exchange electrons, thoughts or vibrations. Because we use Christian symbols to express the infinite light that can’t be described, we can call it Christian mysticism, but mysticism is the base for all religions.

When a person experiences the light of the atomic cloud he sees light in all beings and in his/her own self even when the unity of light in religion is not thinkable, the Divinity within reveals the light in everything. The souls of everyone are connected in the light of love beyond the mind where all is one so if we want light in our life we need to transform our self so we are where it is shining and when we do, it brightens our way. This is the path of Christian mysticism. It is the mind that creates differences and dissects matter to do so, but there are no divisions, the mind creates inequalities and then believes that they are true. Science has shown us that matter is light, which some say is frozen energy so it can be detected with the five senses, but matter is like frozen water in the ocean of water still a part and parcel of the whole.

Matt 5: 14″You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

The light seems to transform as it forgives and accepts all who are in the present. A good example is Jesus who brings light to the meek, to the lowly in heart, and to the broken as he heals and restores the needy to their true nature. It is the arrogant, the religiously crusty aristocrats to whom Jesus lays demands harshly. He is harsh in his teaching to the arrogant because he knows that they have lost the ability for an authentic mystical experience with their paltry, pompous prayers, actions and mentality. He can bring them to the door of awareness, but he knows they won’t be able to open it until they cultivate love and the still point that love creates. We can’t open the door because of our attachment to images, words, and ideas that support our beliefs. We seem to fear the emptiness that we think lies beyond the door, beyond the surface of things so we grasp these things and ideas, afraid of being immersed in a Reality that our mind can’t comprehend. The guiding light is shining under, on top of and around the door, but we are too attached and afraid to open it. It has no lock. There is no doctrine, religion, teaching or technique that opens the door. I feel there is not even a door; we just need to walk through it with love.

Jesus knows that we need to know the natural self before we can walk through the portal and know the supernatural self. I think that is why he made clear that love is the way so we could go beyond the motions of religion. People call themselves religious, but do not acknowledge one God, pure love, or the unity with everything and everyone in God. In this case even some Christians can be referred to as Pharisees with their self-righteous hypocrisy.

Matt 5: 43″You have heard that it was said ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you: Love your enemies[i] and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

Religion builds a wall around a small portion of the infinite and calls it god, but love opens the gates and teaches us that the flow of life in every direction is God showing us the good that is all around us in the form of energy and light. Mysticism is allowing that light to flow through us unobstructed, choosing to let the light shine even after a storm, doing what we love, not necessary what is expected. Light expands beyond the mind showing us the way beyond fear to the happiness of Eternal love. You are independent and a wave in an ocean of your expression, but your spirit is the ocean in the present moment so try to take hold of it and it is not there, but let it go, let it be and you are in a state of grace that is in the here and now where past, present and future are present, where Eternity is now, where God is in the present moment. Christian mysticism is a journey to the soul where heaven is experienced now and we don’t have to die to go there.

The Spirit of Christmas

A Mystical Christmas

The Spirit of Christmas can’t be seen, but is in the peace and love that engages us and blesses us for the rest of the year, not in the sweet presents that are easy to buy. We search the shops looking for the best objects to put under the Christmas tree as a special gift overlooking the spiritual gift of Christ consciousness that lies within our self and in the hearts of our family and friends. It is easy to buy a present, but so difficult to take on the forgiveness, tolerance, love and detached mind of Christ. The beauty of Christmas is not in the tree and presents, but in the beauty and presence of love like a silent Christmas candle that gives up its self and small world to discover the light of a new day.

It is not a time or a season to panic, rush and hurry through gifts, cards, carols and tinsel, but to have a humble, respectful mind that is willing to receive the spirit of Christmas, Bodhi, Hajj, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice and Kwanzaa.. To receive the consciousness of the baby Jesus we don’t have to be Christian in order to fly to new heights, we just need a modest heart that can accept the wisdom of the Christ mind. The gift of Christian Mysticism is beyond the limits of our five senses and is wrapped in different beliefs, but in removing and opening up to the universe using a variety of methods from science, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism or any other principle, we experience an inner mystical connection with God.

This spiritual gift introduces our mind to the soul radiating from the center of our being to connect, guide, and sooth our energy. An energy that is no longer rampant, but focused, connected with our core and the spiritual depths of our soul. This consciousness does not judge, just witnesses with the understanding that we are drawn to the power of the soul without doing a thing. A consciousness of bliss filling an empty, powerless place with wisdom and knowledge requires inner work recognizing where we are influenced by external circumstances and lose energy. Temptations are not ignored, but released by changing perceptions, self-image, concepts and one’s life. The resistance to change is witnessed with the recognition that our energy and power are lost in a diffused and unfocused state that takes strength from every fiber of our body. This is a natural gift, a living grace that perfects our poise, manner, coolness and reserve in the muscular and nervous systems of our body. May we all partake in this Merry Christmas and share this spiritual gift with others.

There is no Religion in Heaven

There are no sinners, religions or denominations in heaven just the rapture of God’s pure consciousness which is composed of people with many different beliefs and non-beliefs in one love embracing all in atonement (at-one-ment). No one can dim the light and joy of Christmas when Christ is born again in the unity of our consciousness as we establish our rebirth in it. It does not demand sacrifice, but a celebration of the perception where we are deprived of nothing or no-thing as our communication with the soul is restored. It gets hold of us because we do not feel guilt or worry about anything because our perspective has changed from looking through the filter of the mind to looking through the soul. The soul never loses its communion with the pure consciousness of God and neither will we when we identify with it and put our mind in the service of the spirit. There is no need to feel pressured, frustrated and miserable affected by the traditions and expectations of others because there are ways to live with joy and peace by letting the spirit show the way. We are not here to just work and make a living, but to amplify the spirit and enrich the world with our consciousness by establishing the appropriate function of the mind with the thought that we are a soul with a mind.
Most people use their energy to move around the circumference of the circle forgetting about the center developing their brain and taking for granted the soul. Democritus was an ancient Greek philosopher, a key figure in the development of the atomic theory of the universe said, “Happiness resides not in possessions and not in gold, happiness dwells in the soul.” People orbiting the circumference judging material reality cannot see the reality of the soul in the center because reality repositions so we see our own mental projections. The soul is out of sight and out of the mind denied because it is not recognized. For us Christians Christ is waiting in the serenity of the present day reality ready to take our hand and guide us to the Divinity within the circle. We involve Christ because our physical vision is derived from fear while his spiritual vision comes from love, and he loves what he sees within us dissolving our fear. He is calling us, but we can’t hear him because we are lost in the thoughts of the world of our own creation where we are trying to achieve something in the physical realm. We have lost sight of our soul, and the cost is enormous because we have gained awareness of the physical reality by ignoring our true reality, but we really haven’t sold our soul yet because it is still there, just the awareness of it is missing.

The Church and Science in Conflict

Science has a profound impact on all aspects of life spreading into our thoughts and culture, transforming paradigms, inspiring and changing our perceptions about the universe and our relationship with it. Christian mysticism on the other hand, is about developing a direct insightful experience, relationship and communion with the beautiful, reasonable energy of the universe and its awe-inspiring power deep within, calling it God. Science and mysticism offer us the depth to be able to change the direction of our basic concepts and outlook of the world around us by pointing to Infinity and something beyond matter. Viewing the universe from the perspective of Infinity radically changes our thoughts for the better in a whole-world view of unity, observing our finite self in infinity. Our science started with the Greeks where philosophy, religion and science were linked together to find the principle character, quality and cause of all things then we disconnected them. If the universe is a free, receptive, improving and an interconnected system then scientific laws are an ideal model for understanding the reliable and proven connections in it. There will always be some features of the physical universe that the laws of nature cannot capture so we need the connections of philosophy, religion and science to show us that infinity is closer than we thought.

The universe is not a self-enclosed system, but an emergent, evolving system which encourages, motivates and inspires us beyond the physical. A spiritual foundation with a scientific connection to philosophy offers a balance of openness and intelligibility that can maintain a suitable environment for our personality to find its deepest potentialities. The paper you are reading in one perspective is a paper, in another perception it is a collection of atoms and molecules before being viewed as a composition of mass, wood and cellulose. I like to think of it as an arrangement of knowledge and intelligence, and none of these positions destroys the soundness of the other viewpoints. They all approach this paper from a different angle and they are all just as real as the other ones. It is completely normal to respect differences as a precaution against self-righteousness and getting it wrong. If a dilemma leads to awareness in Infinity, follow that way; and if another approach appears that is different from the first and it works then follow it. It is good to be honest with our self, change and be encouraged to expand with clear-sightedness because we live and are happy in the present moment.

We have learned to allow other people’s views, especially the negative ones to bring about change in our life when we need to shape our own life as human beings. Our society, religion, teachers and parents tell us that life should be a certain way by putting limits on everything we do physically, mentally and spiritually when there are no limits in Eternity. My fellow Christians use the Bible to shut down and bring to an end spiritual consideration when it is a means to open spiritual reflection. The following quote was attributed to Isaac Newton just before he died, “I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.” We Christians read the Bible as a Holy Book, but many instead of taking it in, digesting and contemplating the material spit it at others to show superiority, authority and dominance. Bishop Desmond Tutu, Archbishop Emeritus and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, a South African opponent of apartheid said, “When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said “Let us pray.” We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land.” Instead of using the Bible to take advantage of people and closing their minds, we need to let people and science advance and progress to expand and to deepen the mind in order to go beyond it to a spiritual experience and a desire for more.

Christian Mysticism

The People Who Love Hell Are in Heaven

In the grace and comfort of unity, a spiritual experience encounters a new heaven and a new earth where everything is united. The confusions on the physical plane, the duality of the sins and miseries of the mind are not remembered or renewed in a spiritual experience. In the present moment harmony we see the balance and unity of opposites because a center of heaven on earth has glory even in our sorrows because when we are at our lowest point we are also the most open to change and a new life. The beast in us can lay in peace with our innocence in our renewal where we become whole or holy. We just need a paradigm shift so the mind in not trapped in the brain and opens to the awareness of being a part of the unified force field where we interact with the universe. If we make this shift in consciousness our story becomes a love story and we stop blaming others for our misfortune as we reinterpret our memories, which in Christianity is the process of forgiveness. Forgiveness is not something we carry out for other people, it does not mean we give a positive response to their behavior or trust them because it is just something that is essential for ourselves to move on to enjoy the peace and goodness that is all around us. Forgiveness takes a strong person and is a sign that one is ready to move on with life. It is a letting go on negative emotions, a spiritual process to love and heal from a person who has wronged us and to keep them from doing away with our freedom.
Science is helping us to reinterpret the universe by showing us that everything in the universe is connected without boundaries or restrictions and that we are a part of the universe and are totally responsible for our character and our choices. Ignore the criticisms and judgments of the mind and listen to the Divinity within because the mind is asking the questions, but it is the soul that answers them. We begin to see through the soul’s perspective when we realize our connection to the universe, open ourselves to love and let the soul show the way. We are a part of the infinite, but somehow we do the most difficult thing, which is to separate ourselves from the infinity within our mind with our mind. The spirit is always there connected with everything in eternity; we just need to remove the obstructions that keep us from it. Jung called the harmonizing, the awareness of our unity with the infinite synchronicity. “Synchronicity is an ever present reality for those who have eyes to see.” (Carl Jung) It is happening right now with coincidences, communications, lessons and everything we need being sent to us from the universe at just the right time when we line up with it instead of demanding the universe change for us.
God is present in the moment, but if we try to grasp or control it, it is not there because we are living in the mind and that means we are either in the past or the future mode while eternity is happening right now and can’t be controlled. The past, the present and the future are in the here and now along with God at the same time, the problem is our mind is linear and thinks in only one mode at a time so they are in the present together, but our mind is not. Christian mysticism communicates to us that we can’t contain or restrict the present moment because it is infinity but there is a way to slow down, know and experience the harmony, synchronicity and peace in it. God is always in infinity, we are the ones that are sporadic, sometimes here and sometimes there in the ocean of pure consciousness while our behavior acts like a wave, connected and separate on the surface. The mind is in the space time continuum so it can imprison and constrict our identity by presenting us as a mind, brain and body, but we are not in them because they are within us. We just need to start identifying with the soul to perceive that the wave is connected to the ocean of pure consciousness in order to feel light and full of joy. The difficulty is in silencing the mind that worries and bothers us with control issues to create our future while the soul is aware of our destiny evolving naturally as we expand and open up to what is around us.
Jesus said, “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” This provides us with a functional answer to the many problems of our present life because this call for love tells us that we are united and that no other person is separate or apart in God’s spiritual encounter. Recognizing that we are all one in God’s mindfulness gives us full protection in His unity by integrating our individual life with the world around us and providing a basic harmony and equilibrium in our hearts and minds. This quiets the mind because creation becomes a tapestry of loving relationships at different levels. The delight and mental high begins with loving who you are at this time no matter what you have done as we need to start at a level we are capable of accepting. It is not a matter of waiting until we have reached an elevated level or certain intensity because all states of love and unity are available right now. Love is timeless with all possibilities in the past and future existing now in the unity of this present moment so we can love the impurities we start with because they are the motivating factor to awaken the self. We are in the infinite and are not going to pass through infinity without making a mistake. The road to heaven passes through hell so the people who love hell are in heaven because in their peace they can deal with anything, are not afraid of anything and know that nothing happens by chance, but by choice. The mystics of every religion talk about this unity, the new physics is talking about it and the Christian mystics past and present are talking about it in the closet of the church. The problem is the church keeps it secret with a locked door that is hard to get in and out of. Thomas Carlyle, a Calvinist stated that the soul gives unity to what it looks at with love. The soul knows things the mind does not understand so no one can threaten, offend or upset us if we are standing inside it because it can go so high negativity can’t reach it.

The Word God Is Overused In Christianity

The symbolic systems of religion work if our ego-centric consciousness is directed from the external contemplation of God as a separate object to the interior of our being where we become conscious that we are inside God. In full development our soul is expanded in both directions because it receives impressions and sensations from the external material realm with thoughts and intuitions from the spiritual reality. The soul is our link between the spiritual and physical where the spiritual develops our intuition and the physical develops our sense organs as a result together they give us observation, insight and awareness. The ocean of pure consciousness in which we are involved is composed of energy, frequency, vibration, light and color, consequently our soul is a rainbow of colors in God’s ocean. From the soul’s perspective it is not words that communicate, but the vibrations behind them that are felt and if the frequency is sympathetic the souls dance making available the feelings of peace and harmony. In our soul we find all the secrets of the universe, the vibrations in God’s ocean of pure consciousness because the soul strives to understand the multitude of vibrations while our ego consciousness uses words to be understood. It is our choice to identify with the awesome reality deep within or with the ego consciousness that creates short-lived realities as it submerges sorrows below the surface. Full development stretches out to encompass both the physical and spiritual realms and it is not difficult to get hold of this awareness if we establish an uninterrupted mindfulness on all levels and planes. We can experience waves of light and bliss in the spiritual realm and not forget our zip code, but approaching from the mind it is difficult to clear away the preconception that the nature of our soul is just a more refined portrayal of the physical. A prayer to comprehend a problem invites awareness, insight, instincts and intuition in order to take in and make out the difficulty and discern the solution. Being mindful, one makes a distinction between a spiritual revelation and a mental inference in order to use both properly to get to the bottom of investigations and disentangle our tribulations. Our world is made of matter; however, it has invisible energy fields passing through it as well as an accepting, compliant interconnection that has no limitations or borders of any kind. This one ocean of consciousness contains our physical, mental and spiritual realities; therefore, understanding our external, internal and higher awareness makes a big difference in dealing with our individual activities in these fields. For this reason, we have all the tools we need to be who we are as we sense and become conscious of the energy around us and incorporate it into our experience. This allows us to imagine, focus our intentions, expand our awareness and clear our mind to look inward and be able to pick up intuitions and higher images and respond to them. When our life is harmonious with all the dimensions, fields and realities in the here and now and we are receptive, life will provide us with what is needed and yield to our request with its immeasurable love, quanta energy and creative resources. “The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it Intuition or what you will, the solution comes to you and you don’t know how or why.” (Albert Einstein)

The Marriage of Science, Religion and Philosophy

Our science started with the Greeks where philosophy, religion and science were linked together to find the principle character, quality and cause of all things then we disconnected them. If the universe is a free, receptive, improving and an interconnected system then scientific laws are an ideal model for understanding the reliable and proven connections in reality. There will always be some features of the physical universe that the laws of nature cannot capture so we need the connections of philosophy, religion and science. The universe is not a self-enclose system, but an emergent, evolving system which endeavors to a motivation beyond itself. A spiritual foundation with a scientific connection to philosophy offers a balance of openness and intelligibility that can maintain a suitable environment for a personality to find its deepest potentialities. The book you are reading in one perspective is a book, in another perception it is a collection of atoms and molecules before being viewed as a composition of mass or wood cellulose. I like to think of it as an arrangement of knowledge and intelligence. None of these positions destroys the soundness of the other viewpoints. They all approach this book from a different angle and they are all just as real as the other ones. It is completely normal to respect differences as a precaution against self-righteousness and getting it wrong. If a dilemma leads to an awareness of Eternity, follow that way; and if another approach appears that is different from the first and it works then follow it. It is good to change and be encouraged to expand to the present moment clear-sightedness. The following quote was attributed to Isaac Newton just before he died, “I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.” Albert Einstein expressed it in different words, “I believe in intuitions and inspirations…I sometimes feel that I am right. I do not know that I am.” Thomas Merton a Christian Mystic said the same thing in another way, “To be grateful is to recognize the Love of God in everything He has given us everything. Every breath we draw is a gift of His love, every moment of existence is a grace, for it brings with it immense graces from Him. Gratitude therefore takes nothing for granted, is never unresponsive, it is constantly awakening to new wonder and to praise of the goodness of God. For the grateful person knows that God is good, not by hearsay but by experience. And that is what makes all the difference.”      Christian Mysticism

The Soul Unites the Body and Spirit

Christian Mysticism is not the end of our problems in life because they are openings for our soul to reveal an inner link with the spirit. The soul not only accepts waves from the physical world in the form of light and vibrations, but insights from the spirit. The physical body assembles our sense organs to put together perceptions from the material realm while the spiritual world forms the channel to communicate intuitions. The soul brings together both the body and the spirit by being open to the revelations involving the higher dimensions as well as the sensations that deal with the lower elements of the body. The body, soul and spirit are in unity and can be expressed in our existence as our consciousness. Therefore, developing the mindfulness and recognition of this unity enlarges and expands our consciousness so we can transcend the limits of our intellect. Our mind still submits information to our consciousness, which is greater than reason and intangible to our senses, but our being is magnified and improved because of it. Our consciousness is in contact with a vast amount of information that the intellect does not know that is very relevant for our survival and happiness. Being mindful of our consciousness is the first step towards self-mastery and bringing into our awareness that which is already a part of our self, resulting in a new aspect of our-self manifesting. We are not creating something out of nothing, but discovering how to merge and be involved with our body, mind, soul and spirit as a unit something that our mind and body were not familiar with and could not set in motion. Our insecurities are due in part to our ignorance and limited perception of this unity and it is exactly what we have perceived to be missing in our life, but this expanded spiritual intelligence is within us and has been there all the time. The body, mind, soul and spirit are working together as one and are leading us to the state of consciousness called The Kingdom of Heaven. This combination is a gestalt; as physical, biological, psychological and spiritual arrangement that unifies the parts to be more than and different from the combination of parts. We are many parts, we are every part together and we are one with a deeper conceptions and impressions of ourselves and the universe. We are powerful beyond comprehension and extremely susceptible at the same time so we have his uncanny ability to observe and consider rich, multiple meanings from a single line in the Bible. When we move in the different dimensions of our consciousness, we witness the Divinity within ourselves, in all things and in all people who have ever lived. In the spirit we know phenomena instantly through and through because it is not limited by the physical sphere of influence with restrictions and constructs. In this raised consciousness we are experiencing what Jesus described thousands of years ago, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2) Aware of the soul as a reliable source of life, we know God is within us and at the same time inside everyone and everything else even though our mind is conditioned to believe otherwise. Christian Mysticism

You are Not your Mind, It is within You

In the grace and comfort of unity, a spiritual experience encounters a new heaven and a new earth where everything is united. The confusions on the physical plane, the duality of the sins and miseries of the mind are not remembered or renewed in this experience. In the present moment harmony we see the balance and unity of opposites. A center of heaven on earth has glory in our sorrows because at our lowest point we are the most open to change and renewal. The beast in us can lay in peace with our innocence in a new life where we are whole or holy. We just need a paradigm shift so the mind in not trapped in the brain. We are a part of the unified force field and we do interact with the universe, we just need to become aware of it. If we make this shift in consciousness our story becomes a love story and we stop blaming others for our misfortune. We reinterpret our memories, which we Christians call forgiveness, and we reinterpret the universe because the scientists are showing us that most of the universe is not perceived.

Ignore the criticisms and judgments of the mind and listen to the Divinity within. The mind is asking the questions, and it is the soul that answers them. “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10) We are in and a part of the infinite, but somehow we do the most difficult thing, which is to separate ourselves from infinity. The spirit is always there we just need to remove the obstructions that keep us from it. Jung called the harmonizing, the awareness of our unity with the infinite synchronicity. “Synchronicity is an ever present reality for those who have eyes to see.” (Carl Jung) God is in the present moment, but if you try to grasp or control this instant it is not there. The past, the present and the future are in the here and now along with God, they are not in the future. The problem is we are living in our mind in either in the past or the future while eternity is now. Christian Mysticism communicates to us that we can’t contain or restrict the present moment because it is infinity. There is a way to slow down, know and experience the harmony, synchronicity, peace and a manner to just be in the present moment. God is always in the present moment, we are the ones that are sporadic, sometimes here and sometimes there. Infinity is an ocean of pure consciousness while the soul is a wave. The mind is in the space time continuum so it can be a prison if we let it constrict our identity. The mind is not in the brain or the body, and we are not in the body or the mind. The mind, brain and body are within us. We just need to start identifying with the soul or wave that is connected to the ocean of pure consciousness.

Christian Mysticism

Christian Mysticism and Science Utilized for Awareness

Christian Mysticism is not reading about theories or taking anything on faith. It only deals with what works to bring about enjoyment and the good qualities of life. “I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live.” (Ecclesiastes 3:12) It is a real challenge to be happy and feel the Divinity in all things when an experience is painful or confusing. The pain is real in the conscious mind, but that is only a part of the total mind that is used. To be happy in all situations we need to make available a way to enlarge the awareness of the consciousness of the mind that presently is experiencing pain. Being happy is enabling the Divinity within to use the full mind and consciousness to radiate happiness and love to ourselves and our fellow man while increasing the harmony in the conscious field around us. Christian Mysticism accomplishes this by bringing the subtle levels of thought to the conscious level. There is a universal Reality which we do not create, but which we can discover. This Reality or Energy one can call God Consciousness, which is everything, in everything and always moving toward that which expresses life, happiness and unity, but if our desires are destructive, we will not experience God consciousness and will experience division until unity is learned. By understanding and unfolding the deeper levels of existence, we become aware of the energy in all regions and levels of creation both subtle and gross. Our familiarity with the deeper levels of existence allows us to become comfortable and happy at any level. This awareness to be content and happy creates a suitable atmosphere for all the virtues to flourish. A simple act of being happy delivers the virtues of tolerance, love, and compassion, which helps one to know reality and to do some wholesome, good work by integrating these values in our daily life. In our way of life we can learn and utilize both the scientist’s and the mystic’s perspective for a life that is to be fulfilled and content. With the help of these two disciplines we move deeper into the domains of matter and consciousness to find happiness and wellbeing behind the contrived displays that hide the unity of suffering and contentment.

Christian Arrogance

I feel in the heart of everyone, God comes, and God goes in the form of pure consciousness. It is not that the pure consciousness is not there, but the awareness is not there. When the heart and the mind become vast, deep and limitless, then Christ makes a heaven in that graceful heart, and pure consciousness and bliss prevails. The experience is recognized as love and peace. Christians and non-Christians have this experience. In the absence of this experience especially among my fellow Christians arrogance, separation and even hatred arises, divisions of every sort fragment the mind and heart. I feel it is the responsibility of our Christian leaders to educate others of this experience, but first they must find it in themselves. Many times it is the ones without the experience of silence that preach the loudest without knowing the inner meaning of the words.

The Joy of Christian Mysticism

Christian Mysticism is not reading about theories or taking anything on faith. It only deals with what works to bring about enjoyment and the good qualities of life. “I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live.” (Ecclesiastes 3:12) It is a real challenge to be happy and feel the Divinity in all things when an experience is painful or confusing. The pain is real in the conscious mind, but that is only a part of the total mind that is used. To be happy in all situations we need to make available a way to enlarge the consciousness of the mind that presently is experiencing pain. Being happy is enabling the Divinity within to use the full mind and consciousness to radiate happiness and love to ourselves and our fellow man while increasing the harmony in the conscious field around us. Christian Mysticism accomplishes this by bringing the subtle levels of thought to the conscious level. By understanding and unfolding the deeper levels of existence, we become aware of the energy in all regions and levels of creation both subtle and gross. Increasing our familiarity with the deeper levels of existence allows us to become comfortable and happy at any level. The spiritual practice to be content and happy is creating a suitable atmosphere for all the virtues to flourish. Armed with the virtues of tolerance, love, and compassion we are not only the knower of reality, but are doing wholesome, good work in reality just by integrating these values in life.

Mysticism is not dangerous as some Christians without knowledge and proper practice would have you believe. On the contrary, it is a profound and incredible spiritual experience that can induce fear in those not acquainted with the mind of Christ. The Bible supports this with this phrase, “These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (Corinthians 2:13-14)  The fear that the extreme Christians invoke is what is toxic and treacherous not the mysticism. Some mistakenly project their fear of contact with the Divinity within, but Christian Mysticism guides one to the soul which automatically relaxes the mind and in turn the body. The terror some profess will never relax the mind because it only activates fear. God is not an inference or hypothesis, but an experience that one has to live to know. Joseph Campbell says, “Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls”

Gratitude

Gratitude does not need anything on the part of the individual except innocence and simplicity. No effort is needed and it must devoid of any intellectual play or emotion. Gratitude is a surrender to God and is never on the level of thinking. If one doesn’t like the word God it is just being or surrender to the higher self. I feel we need to surrender the thinking to make a mood for gratitude or surrender the thinking level of gross consciousness to achieve the bliss and gratitude of a higher awareness. It seems gratitude and joy come together as a package and is a kind of spiritual practice that can be awakened.  Christian Mysticism

Christian Enlightenment

I like the term Christian Enlightenment as a movement to bridge the gap that exists between Christians and Fundamentalist. Enlightenment is a concept, which means being illuminated by acquiring new wisdom or understanding. While Fundamentalist go on the path of Inquisition, Christian Enlightenment will take the road of silent contemplation. I see it as a spiritual journey through the mountains, valleys, jungles and deserts of our minds.  A journey to Christ consciousness beyond time, space and words so it can’t be described with words or what Fundamentalist see as facts from scriptures so we will have to hint at the different levels of consciousness that can be reached spiritually. Looking into the meanings of scripture I think we can form a new concept of life, which helps form a new humanity on the individual, Christian and community level.

In Western religions I think God and Truth have become institutionalized which is good for a few if it puts God in their heart, but for most it has only fossilized Truth and God so it doesn’t live on its own. The followers think they have to defend religion beating a dead horse into the ground. The mystics of those religions and people who have had a spiritual experience put their hearts in God which gives them a wider angle of vision so they might have come from religion, but they feel related to all religions not only the fossil. For these individuals scripture is not a matter of facts, but a matter of meanings for the spiritual aspirant. The spiritual experience is a journey into eternity beyond time, space and words so it can’t be described. The words only hint at different levels of consciousness, which threatens the people institutionalized so they become more aggressive because of their fear.

Religion

Religion

Religions put God in the hearts of people, but Christian mysticism puts human hearts in God

–          Religion is all right it moves from low to high, from slow to fast.

–          The problem is it spends too much energy running around the circumference and taking for granted the center or Divinity within, which is the spiritual experience.

Religious traditions are united in a force most call God. The problem is that religions break up God into different hypothesis by taking the infinite and putting narrow walls around the pieces. This is what causes the disputes.

–          When the Truth of our religion is experienced and the narrow walls of the hypothesis are torn down then we find that the same Truth is basic in all religions.

–          The Ultimate Truth can be approached from many directions.

–          Our Lord is so kind to dwell in everyone and everything.

–          We can all benefit from the different viewpoints that give us a dynamic regeneration and spiritual experience beyond the hypothesis.

God in Spirit……quotes from Bible

God is not just out there some where; He is in each one of us.

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”          John 4:24

20 Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”[ Luke 17:20-21

] 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.2 Corinthians 3:17

23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.   John 4:23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.   Galatians 5:22-23

May your externalized rules give way to the Spirit of love, joy, peace, kindness and gentleness.

Renewing the Mind

Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.

The Spirit is always there so we must transform and enlarge our personal consciousness and individual experience with the Holy Spirit. This is basic to every mode of spiritual discernment, and every quest. The more we are aware of Spirit working in and through everything, especially within ourselves, the more God’s presence can replace prior limitations and dis-harmonies with good. Our minds will act on the new ideas that are formed and form a new, more positive belief and attitude. This deep understanding sees the good of God everywhere and always present. This shift in attitude brings greater freedom; peace and joy so we need to give up the old worries, free ourselves and replace old ideas with the knowledge that everything we need is available. When we recognize Spirit and pull into life revelation, discernment and right choices are made.

Isn’t amazing how throughout the ages mystics of all stripes and religions have plugged into almost universal concepts of love, unity and oneness, compassion and justice for all, regardless of their culture or religion.

Christian Mysticism

Christian Mysticism expands the small world

It seems in our small world Christ enters and leaves as we try to grasp Our Lord in a tight fist of a hand, but when we open the mind to the vast, deep and limitless Christ mind, then we relax and rest in a state of peace. We let go and “Let Thy Will be Done”. We are no longer tied or grasping a human predicament. We are no longer poking about our interior with a flashlight, but opening the blinds, windows and doors of our Soul to the present moment of God. We no longer seek God because we know he is always present so we seek the barriers that separate us from That Glorious Presence.

Christian Mysticism And Christian Religion

Christian religion seems to be the study of trees and counting the rings while Christian Mysticism is concerned with sending the roots deeper into the experience. I think one can study the orchard and expand one’s branches and roots at the same time, but the institutions seem more comfortable with the words and so they deny the experience.

In our endeavor to understand life we experiment externally, which is science in order to understand the laws of life internally, which is spirituality. As we see the universal laws unfold and how they apply to our mind, we understand our relationship to the whole. By being good we find out what makes us happy and by being bad we find sadness, therefore to be content and happy we must find the best way to live. To live a good life we must deliver an unconscious pattern into a conscious system, which is what spirituality does for us. It is just as important to understand our internal self, as it is to understand the external self in order to be healthy and happy. We need to learn to watch the inner reactions of the mind, the same way we observe events in the outer world for self-preservation; consequently, our mind becomes aware of itself.

I feel the Church needs to spend more time directing people to the interior life and not worry so much about the exterior facade that takes so much of the Church’s resources. Christian Mysticism

Tao Chapter 43 and Christian Mysticism

Chapter 43 now open for dialog or discussion…….

The gentlest thing in the world
overcomes the hardest thing in the world.
That which has no substance
enters where there is no space.
This shows the value of non-action.

If we think of the Tao or God as what ties everything together in some form of harmony, then everything is in a relationship with everything, God or the Tao. When everything is in a relationship with everything else then nothingness or no thing exist in isolation or separate from everything so there is nothing. Therefore everything inseparable even opposites are one. In our body we have opposite muscles that complement one another. One muscle straightens the arm and the opposite muscle bends the arm. We have opposites in the body that complement each other for the health and well being of the entire body. It seems it was designed to co-operate and work with opposites that are inseparable. In other words opposites are just two parts of one whole and are not separate. In silence, we have no point where heat ends and cold begins. I think this dialog is talking about the cooperation and oneness of everything working together. We have two eyes and they see one vision and our two ears hear one sound. To see the value of non-action, one needs to realize and be aware of the Oneness of All things. Non-action implies that there is no one doing the action so there is no-action, just Oneness. I find this passage leading to the stillness of the mind where we understand and find our One True Love, the Tao, or God.

Teaching without words,
performing without actions:
that is the Master’s way.

Silence seems to speak volumes on the infinite, as our theories and knowledge are finite and only explain a part. I feel if a teacher says that a theory is the only true or possible one then it is a sign that this master does not understand the theory or the dilemma. Our minds are limited like words and can’t grasp all possibilities; therefore to look for understanding I think the Tao is saying one needs to look beyond the mind without words or actions. I feel in pure being on finds and can understand the One True Love. Therefore; religion would not be about believing in things, words or rules, but about being sacred and holy, whole-ly.
Christian Mysticism

Christian Mysticism is Love

The art of being a good Christian is in harmony with humanism and Christian Mysticism. An enlightened mind and an enlarged heart will focus a current of love into a laser for different, enthusiastic, adventurous, happy individuals, giving honor and glory to God in just being alive. These progressive Christians become spiritual and human at the same time producing a radiant joy and buoyancy for all of humanity. They know that God placed them on earth to be human beings and not inhuman. Mysticism is not a withdrawal from the world because it seeks a greater knowledge of God, which becomes practical or practiced when oriented towards goodness and service to one’s neighbors. I feel mysticism and humanism go hand in hand because when we know God and act in accordance with God in the form of humanism. Yes, this is love.

Sin in Christian Mysticism

To the person engrossed in pure consciousness even pain is fruitful, for all things work together for the good of the whole even sin is a commitment to greater love because it humbles bringing out the best. It shows how the ego will act contrary to the will of God so a person will rise above sin by turning to pure consciousness, God acts as if the sin had never been committed. God’s consciousness is in the present so He would never let former sins count against a person. God accepts people not for what they have been, but for what they are now. Sin is just a way to bring man to a better knowledge of his love and make him more determined to struggle for pure consciousness.

Christian Enlightenment in Christian Mysticism

We can’t open the door of Christian Enlightenment in Christian Mysticism because of our attachment to images, words, and ideas that support our beliefs. We seem to fear the emptiness that we think lies beyond the door, beyond the surface of things so we grasp these things and ideas, afraid of being immersed in a Reality that our mind can’t comprehend. The guiding light is shinning under, on top of and around the door, but we are to attached and afraid to open it. It has no lock. There is no doctrine, religion, teaching or technique that opens the door. I feel there is not even a door, we just need the to walk through it with love.

Trust and Faith

Trust and Faith

I feel contemplation takes us from Trust to Faith. I feel Trust and Faith are holding hands, but they are different in that Trust is coming from the head, logically telling us that everything will turn out in the long run, while Faith on the spiritual level gives us a calm feeling because we know it will or has already happened in infinity. It is nice when they walk together because a calm easy feeling is emitted. If one only has one it seems an unbalance occurs that makes it difficult to go forward. For example, I feel many trust that they have a religion that represents the central principle of God, but their actions seem to show us that they may not have the faith that it represents God. It shows in their actions of holding back from being completely enthusiastic about Love, or coming closer to their God. I don’t think this is a fun place to be and is not productive because there is not a total submission to Spirit or Soul. If there were a total submission to God’s will, there would be eagerness to know God in all His aspects. There would be no time to play my religion is “better or best” game. I think the individuals who play this have confused Trust and Faith. They think their Trust is Faith.

Logically, we seem to tell ourselves that we should play it safe and keep with the ideas we have because deep down we do not trust other concepts or ourselves. Following a spiritual path is difficult because of Trust and Faith. We may have faith in God and that all things are united, but not trust that people are ready to hear it or the world is ready for it with all the strife. We may believe God is talking to us in different ways, but then question these intuitions as weird spirit voices. I feel we may trust we are on the right path, but not believe it, if we think others are on the wrong path. I feel to do great spiritual work we need to believe and trust in what we are doing. This is reflected in that we also feel others are doing exactly what they are suppose to be doing at this time.

To connect Trust and Faith, I feel we have to reconnect with our faith so we need to take time to pray, meditate, listen to music, read, write, daydream, build sandcastles or whatever to connect to the Spirit within. Our deep spiritual faith will reconnect with Trust. If we lack faith then we need to argue, sing, talk, and listen to our God, which is the same God as others so there is no need to argue with other people. If we don’t have faith then our work is not spiritual. We need people to give their spiritual gifts and people need to share their spirit so we need to encourage all faiths to express their love and devotion. I feel this will get rid of religious terrorism, suicide bombers and condemning of others.

Having said all this I feel the people reading this are on a much deeper level than what I just expressed. It comes across in our lives that some people are thoughtful of their souls and see this as a cure for the world and the worldliness of our hearts. Trust in spirit allows one to love and easily laugh.  This trust trains our minds to overlook the little senseless, physical actions of the time to remember where our souls are already residing in the center of the circle. Jesus also warned us of distrust and the follow-up, physical actions that would distract our minds away from the peace in the center of the Spirit.  The soul seems to be the witness in the world just letting things be. It is immune from material laws knowing a physical action will fail to produce a spiritual thing. Reawakening to our soul we live and have being in the world, but are not of it. The soul leaves no footsteps.

Matt6:26

“Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?

We dream we are on a journey, but we are in bed at home so our spiritual journey has no distance, but is only an awakening to our home in eternal peace. Peace is a condition of  the mind with Truth and Faith holding hands and walking together through the test of motion, rest, danger, exhaustion and being prosperous. I feel this chapter is telling us that if we find peace in the lesson that is planned for us at a specific time may it be rest or exhaustion then we will experience the attribute of eternal gentleness. I feel when we finally open our eyes from our dream and spiritual journey, we realize that we need nothing because everything we need is already provide for us even hardship is a need provided free of charge.

Merry Christmas is a Mystical Christmas

May everyone have a Merry Christmas and be given a spiritual experience of Christian Mysticism , which introduces the mind to the soul radiating from the center of our being to connect, guide, and sooth our energy. Energy radiates from the soul similar to an electrical current giving light to a bulb. This energy is no longer rampant, but focused, connected with our core and the spiritual depths of our soul. This consciousness directed by Christ does not judge, just witnesses with the understanding that we are drawn to the power of the soul. A consciousness of bliss filling an empty, powerless place with wisdom and knowledge requires inner work recognizing where we are influenced by external circumstances and lose energy. Temptations are not ignored, but released by changing perceptions, self-image, concepts and one’s life. The resistance to change is witnessed with the recognition that our energy and power are lost in a diffused and unfocused state taking strength from every fiber of our body. Spiritual practice is a natural gift, a living grace that perfects our poise, manner, coolness and reserve in the muscular and nervous systems of our body. Spiritual development doesn’t invite physical health because it is done for spiritual reasons, but the mind and body do benefit, assisting our spirituality in turn. May we all share in this Christmas gift

Christian Mysticism empties the mind so the Spirit can Grow

We don’t have to go to the waters in an artesian well, the water come to us. We just have to remove the barriers blocking the water from rising.  God’s grace tries to fill the void in our lives. Emptying the mind removes the barriers and creates a void for God’s grace. I feel the interior life with spirit gives us liberation and a higher consciousness away from the thoughts and cravings for things. We live an interior life not attached to the external world except to serve expressing our Lord’s love. For me the holy is within and that is what motivates a moral religious life. It is awe before God in the indwelling Spirit. It is not that the spiritual is superior to the material, but that the material is spiritual so one sees God in mysterious way. One is content to watch the physical play of Our Lord as he acts it out in everyone and everything.

Many Christians express an external religious expression with fear as a kind of motivation. I think they are not emptying their minds, but filling it with thoughts to defend a book or an external God with majestic trivia. When they speak, their words have no power because they don’t have the grace or spiritual power to back them up. They seem to think they know all the meanings, but they don’t seem to know the spiritual value of love and compassion. They force their moral compulsion of the whole Bible on everyone without a discriminate mind that can distinguish between what is pertinent and what doesn’t relate.

Mark 7:6-8 (New International Version)

6He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:
” ‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
7They worship me in vain;

The Tao, Ch 27 and Christian Mysticism

Ch 27

Therefore the sage takes care of all men
And abandons no one.
He takes care of all things
And abandons nothing.

This is called “following the light.”

Matt 5:

14“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

The light seems to transform as it forgives and accepts all who are in the present. A good example is Jesus who brings light to the meek, to the lowly in heart, and to the broken as he heals and restores the needy to their true nature. It is to the arrogant, the religiously crusty aristocrats to whom Jesus lays demands harshly. He is harsh in his teaching to the arrogant because he knows that they have lost the ability for an authentic mystical experience with their paltry, pompous prayers, actions and mentality. He can bring them to the door of awareness, but I feel he knows they won’t be able to open it until they cultivate love and the still point that love creates. We can’t open the door because of our attachment to images, words, and ideas that support our beliefs. We seem to fear the emptiness that we think lies beyond the door, beyond the surface of things so we grasp these things and ideas, afraid of being immersed in a Reality that our mind can’t comprehend. The guiding light is shinning under, on top of and around the door, but we are to attached and afraid to open it. It has no lock. There is no doctrine, religion, teaching or technique that opens the door. I feel there is not even a door, we just need the to walk through it with love.

I feel Jesus knows that we need to know the natural self before we can walk through the portal and know the supernatural self. I think that is why he taught love so we could go beyond the motions of religion. I feel he knows people call themselves religious, but do not acknowledge God, pure love, or God’s pure consciousness, the Tao. In this case even some Christians are pagans as referred to in line 47 below.

Matt 5:

43“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[h] and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you: Love your enemies[i] and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Christian Mysticism

Story of Adam and Eve

The personal story of Adam and Eve explains the tendency within the universe to disperse. A centrifugal motion radiating from the nucleus is what causes the worldly consciousness to appear to separate from God. The world in itself has no reality at all because it is in perpetual change without much meaning or consistency. The objects and things existing in it are separated in time and space and are changing from one moment to the next. Therefore, the microcosm apart from the macrocosm is nothing but when it knows the macrocosm, it is reality itself, constant and full of being. The feeling that we fell from pure consciousness and loss bliss is due to the separation from our internal existence. This has caused the present era of confusion where everything is divided, not centered, and separated from the whole or pure consciousness. This can be related to the story of Adam and Eve leaving the Garden of Eden or the unit consciousness separating from pure consciousness. No need to worry though because everyone will be delivered from this separation. As the inner light unfolds, it delivers the outer life from bondage. Everything comes from within so when the inner consciousness knows freedom, the outer life knows freedom also, and will reflect it through health, happiness and success. Evolution is working for our good and will bring about this knowledge that everything starts from within and works its way outward. All things even that which we call evil is paying tribute to pure consciousness, showing us the way. Suffering teaches us a lesson that causes us to resist making more mistakes. We just need to learn how to gain knowledge from our experiences, to go inward and to experience everything.

To Understand Spiritual Things

“God has revealed this wisdom to us through the Spirit. The Spirit scrutinizes all matters, even the deep things of God.” —1 Corinthians 2:10

To understand spiritual things, we have to rely totally on the Holy Spirit because the Spirit instructs us in everything (John 14:26), We live in the Spirit and it is the major part if not all of our understanding.
(2 Corinthians 3:15-17) 15Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

All the Sacred Books are special and are not ordinary writings because they have been inspired by the Holy Spirit and have extremely spiritual and truthful contents. They are mystical and difficult in many ways. If we have the freedom of Spirit, we see this in all the sacred teachings, if not we have a tendency to contract to the one thing we have studied intellectually.

(1 Corinthians 2:10-16) “The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.[a] 14The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment:
16″For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?”[b] But we have the mind of Christ.” The mind of Christ I feel can be expressed as Christ consciousness, but many Christians would call this New Age as if it is bad. It is not negative.

God is not separate from anything; He is the Life of our life, the Reality within our own reality and the Soul within our being. Our union with God can be witnessed in our minds starting with the replication of the union between Christ consciousness and God’s pure consciousness. This is the bringing of our own minds and wills into agreement with the mind of Christ, a consciousness where we experience pure consciousness and get submerged in the loving will of God. It starts us on a journey toward a new consciousness where Christ consciousness purifies the mind so it becomes free, not worried and unattached because it doesn’t want its own way, but the Lord’s way. Christ said, “Lord let Thy Will be done.” This simple phrase encourages the thoughtful and focused application of a profound spiritual practice that leads to untold reward by directing the creative force within to pure consciousness. It establishes a deep awareness of our unity with the power of God so we experience a greater good as a result of limiting our negative attitude. This positive awareness applied to specific needs in our daily life changes our circumstances helping us to pass from hardship and desire into a greater freedom than we have ever known. As we enter into a greater consciousness astonishing things happen that we thought were not possible, but we must take an honest look at our negative thoughts and let them go. Having the determination to expand our positive thoughts and take charge of our life will eliminate many problems, negative beliefs and unhappiness. We must have the courage to move forward into Christ consciousness where we are free from pain, desire, fear, conflict and worry. May we all have the freedom of Spirit to not be afraid and research our true being in every corner the Spirit takes us and not cower into tradition, physical symbols or behind people who preach the restricting of Spirit just because it comes from a source we are not accustomed to. The Spirit enters where the door is open and honors a closed mind by not entering where it is not welcome.

Soul, Christ Consciousness and love

Our possessive nature spoils things, our attachments blind; they bind and hurt us so we need to let go of our old ways and become free because this detachment is our liberation. When a person loves something he sets it free, this is love. Love is beyond the mind, beyond mere words, and is expressed in silent sacrifice. Jesus loved us and died for us to show us the way. His liberation from the earth glorified God and showed us the way. He loved, sacrificed and died for everyone demonstrating his love for God, everything and the unity of pure consciousness. The union between Christ consciousness and pure consciousness is so intimate that no creature could ever detect a difference between them. Christ is demonstrating the union between our soul and God because our soul is nearer to God than it is to our body. We have higher and lower powers just like Jesus because we enjoy the bliss of eternity while, at the same time, suffering and struggling here on earth. We should not inhibit the function of our consciousness, but train, offer it up to God and be in harmony with it at all times. Jesus showed us how to assign suffering solely to the body, the lower faculties and the senses so our consciousness can be plunged into the pure consciousness of our Lord. He showed us how to love God in all things so the more purely and simply we love in unity the more thoroughly our deeds will wash away our sins and purify our minds. Jesus meant for us to follow him intelligently and spiritually so not to be manipulated by literal interpretations that lead us away from love. Following Christ consciousness in our own way depends on our love not our superficial actions. It is love that blots out sin and knows no fear so there is nothing else a man can do that is as beneficial as loving everything and everyone. When this happens, it is no longer we who love, but Christ that loves through us, it is no longer our bodies that live, but Christ consciousness that lives within us. This is the discovery of our true selves in Christ consciousness. Jesus died for us and reconciled us to his Father so Christ consciousness could live in us and unify us with God.

What Is Christian Mysticism

Christian Mysticism Weblog

We have created…
